Our award-winning tea ceremony offers both cultural enjoyment and meaningful learning. Guided by a professional tea master and friendly staff, you'll observe each step and learn the significance behind the tools, movements, and traditions. You'll also gain insights into the history of the tea ceremony, the cultural heritage of Kyoto, and proper etiquette passed down through generations. You will then prepare your own bowl of matcha using high-quality green tea , whisked under the tea master’s guidance. This hands-on moment allows you to experience the calm, focus, and hospitality at the heart of Japanese tea culture. A selection of elegant kimonos is available, and our staff will assist with dressing to ensure a refined appearance. Please note that children under 6 are not permitted. If your group includes a child under 6, we kindly ask that you refrain from booking this activity. Tripods are not allowed during the ceremony. Photo and video recording may be limited—please follow the tea master’s instructions regarding appropriate timing and manners.

5.00I strongly encourage you to do both the kimono and the tea ceremony, the dress up was so much fun. The history behind the ceremony was explained wonderfully, and the opportunity for pictures was amazing.

5.00Amazing experience. From the time you check in to getting dressed up in kimono and then the tea ceremony, everything is great. Great variety of kimonos to choose from. Ample time in their garden to click pictures. Lots of history and great matcha tea!

5.00We really enjoyed this experience! Our hosts were so kind and accommodating and did a beautiful job teaching us the history behind this wonderful tradition. Dressing in kimonos was memorable, plus we really appreciated that the tea rooms were decorated very traditionally, which made us feel like we were having a truly authentic experience. It was also inspiring to be with about 8 other guests, who were from several other countries around the world. In our tea ceremony alone, we had visitors from Russia, Israel, Poland, USA, Argentina, and a few others. Just beautiful that although we all come from such different places, we came together to share this peaceful experience.

5.00The tea ceremony was beautiful, from start to finish we learned so much about the important concepts and background that makes the ceremony tea so special. The matcha and sweets were delicious. Our host was very knowledgeable and friendly. We highly recommend this tour
