5.00Dimitris arrived early at our hotel for pickup in a large comfortable Mercedes van. The van was stocked with water and waterfall supplies. The drive was comfortable and quick - with a stop for a delicious Greek coffee. The gorge was amazing but not as amazing as the swim to the waterfall - breathtaking. We then went to Kalypso beach. The scenery was stunning and the water crystal clear. After all that, we had lunch at a hilltop restaurant with sea views. Amazing day!

5.00My family and I (me, husband, 2 daughters ages 10 & 8) had a wonderful day at the gorge, Kalypso beach and Preveli beach, along with a traditional Cretan lunch! The gorge was stunning (though cold!) and worth the trek. Kalypso beach is the most stunning beach I’ve ever been to in my life! Dimitris was our guide, he promptly picked us up at our airbnb and gave us plenty of time at each location, taking pictures, offering suggestions for other places to visit and telling us more about life on the island. I would definitely recommend!

5.00May 28, 2026 | Crossing Crete & Southern Marvels We met George at the JW Marriott in Marathi and, after a warm good morning, set off across the island. He was very prepared for our day, reminded us swimming shoes and running shoes but no sandals for the gorge. From there, we traveled through the diverse regions of Chania and Rethymno, taking in Crete’s ever-changing landscapes. Our first stop was Diplo MeRaki, where we enjoyed a traditional Greek coffee ritual in a relaxed local setting — a perfect moment to connect with the culture and ease into the day. Loved their dog too! We then continued to Kourtaliotiko Gorge, exploring its raw natural beauty, hidden paths, and dramatic scenery. It was so worth the experience! Next, we reached Kalypso Beach, a secluded cove framed by steep cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Once believed to have been a pirate hideout, it still carries a strong sense of mystery. We spent two hours here swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the southern coasty. By midday, we ascended to the mountain village of Myrthios, arriving at Taverna Dionyssos, where we enjoyed local dishes with panoramic views over the Libyan Sea. It was a peaceful moment to reflect on the landscapes, culture, and spirit of Crete. We returned to Marathi in the afternoon, carrying memories of a day filled with nature, culture, and shared experiences.
This day was one of our best!

5.00This was an absolute magical day. The gorge was absolutely epic. You’ve got to swim in and around the corner to really get the magic of it Both beaches were an absolute delight. Be prepared to put your steps in but it was absolutely worth it. Our driver was on time and so friendly. He checked in on us and made sure everything was great all day. He even offered us really good recommendations on where else to go on the Crete while we are here. Our van was super comfortable and pristine. We also stopped for coffee in the beginning of the day at a little local spot and our host there was so friendly. We ended our day at a fantastic restaurant right on the ocean- and the food was so fresh and delicious. It is a full day but 100% worth it. Highly recommend. This was the best tour we did on our trip through Rome, Athens and Crete.

5.00An Absolute MUST! Perfect from A to Z! Our guide Dimitris was awesome! He was so knowledgeable, showed up on time and had the cleanest vehicle. Offered us water immediately and told us what to expect on the trip. He gave us some history lessons as we rode to our first part of the destination where we stopped for coffee and pastries. The gorge was phenomenal and is an absolute must! This time of year the water was cold, but once you get used to it, it was great. We got the best pictures. A little bit of a warning though...you definitely need water shoes and sneakers for the short hike. You definitely need to be in good health and be OK with inclined and steep terrain. Afterward, we went to Kalypso Beach for some sunbathing and swimming. Another picture perfect part of the day. After hanging out there for another hour or so we went to lunch at a local restaurant where we simply had the best Cretan food and got to talk to some locals and really experience what the area has to offer. I even got a chance to buy locally sourced olive oil to take home with me! It's one of their major exports as we looked and drove by all the olive trees in the mountains. This was the most perfect day for myself and my family and would highly recommend this tour!

5.00This trip was amazing to visit the natural beauty of the island. Our guide/driver Dimitris was extremely welcoming and interactive. He made sure we were comfortable the whole trip and he really made the experience. On the drive from Heraklion he gave us some background information about Crete. He also supplied us with water as we needed even though it's a good idea to pack your own as well! We stopped at a small town before the gorge for some coffee and cookies which was so cool! He walked us down to the gorge and told us exactly where to go for which pictures! He was so patient with my mom on the hike back up to make sure we were not pushing it too much with the steep steps. We then chose Kalypso beach where he walked us down and showed us around. Amazing views and amazing pictures and amazing memories! Highly recommend this trip to anyone of any age can find something to do (just be cautious of how many steps/hills you can handle!) Things to Know: the gorge water is freezing (you will have to swim to get the super cool pictures), the steps are rocky and uneven (just pace yourself), and we packed lunch to avoid expensive prices.

5.00What a brilliant tour! George was really welcoming and knowledgable of Southern Crete. The sights were beautiful and breath taking. Once we had been to the waterfall and Prevali beach we had lunch at Agia Fotia right by the sea. The food was amazing. Would 100% recommend booking this tour you wouldn't regret it!
