Kruja Castle

The tour starts at the hotel at the appointed time. This is the meeting place with the guide. We’ll continue driving to the city of Kruja.( 1h.30') 1. The first visit is to the Castle of Kruja and the Museum of Skenderbeg. There you will get acquainted with the history of the Albanian people and its resistance in the 15th century led by the national hero Skenderbeg, against the greatest Empire of the time Ottoman Empire .Inside the castle you will explore the old road and the houses of the Castle.You can take photo of the mountain and the city of Kruja. 2.After you will visit the old Bazaar of Kruja . Kruja Bazaar is one of the oldest in Albania with the original marketplace dating back over 400years. The Ottoman-style bazaar stretches all the way.

Visit Durrës Castle One of the highlights of your journey through Durrës is the Durrës Castle, a 5th-century citadel built by Byzantine Emperor Anastasius I. As a strategic fortress, it once played a crucial role in protecting the city from invaders. Today, parts of its ancient walls still stand, offering a glimpse into its storied past. The most notable structure within the castle is the Venetian Tower, a 15th-century addition built by the Venetians, blending medieval and Ottoman influences. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and coastline, making it a perfect spot for photos and historical exploration.

An excursion between the mountains in Kruja and the sea in Durres, a very available guide, who takes the time to stop by car to visit temples, observe the panorama of cities, explain the history during the visit of the castle and very happy to discover the culture of his country. A very active and rich day.

Great introduction to both the history and the geography of Albania. In one short day, you go from the mountains to the sea and capture the wide experience of Albanian history. Adnan the guide is a cool and pleasant guy. Much recommended.

Kruja and the Skanderbeg Castle Museum were very interesting and the town of Durres, by the sea, with its amphetheater, was well worth the visit. Ali our tour guode was informative and knowledgeable. He was also a very safe driver. Thank you Ali!

Skerdi was a fantastic host who was attentive to me needs. The tour moved at a great pace. Kruja Castle and the museum were fantastic. The vista from the castle was particularly beautiful.

Both Kruja Castle and the museum were great, and there was a lot of information about Albania history. Durness was pretty. Unfortunately our guide seemed to need to be back in Tirana for another pickup so we were rushed through the whole thing, and had no time for food or drink, we had just 20 mins in both places free time.

Our guide Adi was wonderful and made the trip enjoyable and informative. The Kruja castle and museum were the best part of the tour, but we did also enjoy the stop in Durres. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is the amount of time spent driving between locations. While Adi did continue to teach us about the surrounding areas we drove through, we would have preferred to have visited only one of the 2 locations and had a more in-depth experience.

The guide was smashing and very informative about everything. He contacted us previous to the trip giving relevant information regarding pick up times. He was a safe driver.
