Kruja Castle
The tour starts at the hotel at the appointed time. This is the meeting place with the guide. We’ll continue driving to the city of Kruja.( 1h.30') 1. The first visit is to the Castle of Kruja and the Museum of Skenderbeg. There you will get acquainted with the history of the Albanian people and its resistance in the 15th century led by the national hero Skenderbeg, against the greatest Empire of the time Ottoman Empire .Inside the castle you will explore the old road and the houses of the Castle.You can take photo of the mountain and the city of Kruja. 2.After you will visit the old Bazaar of Kruja . Kruja Bazaar is one of the oldest in Albania with the original marketplace dating back over 400years. The Ottoman-style bazaar stretches all the way.
Durres
Explore the Historic City of Durrës Your journey continues to Durrës, one of Albania’s oldest and most historically significant cities, founded in 627 B.C.. Known for its ancient ruins, vibrant seafront, and rich cultural heritage, Durrës offers a perfect mix of history and relaxation. Visit the Iconic Landmarks Durrës Amphitheater – Built in the early 2nd century, this impressive Roman structure is one of the largest amphitheaters in the Balkans, once hosting 20,000 spectators for gladiator battles and performances. Old Byzantine Market – A fascinating glimpse into the city’s trading past, where you can see remnants of its ancient commercial center. Venetian Tower – A 15th-century fortress that stands as a symbol of Durrës' strategic importance, offering a blend of Venetian and Ottoman influences.

3.00Both Kruja Castle and the museum were great, and there was a lot of information about Albania history. Durness was pretty. Unfortunately our guide seemed to need to be back in Tirana for another pickup so we were rushed through the whole thing, and had no time for food or drink, we had just 20 mins in both places free time.

4.00Our guide Adi was wonderful and made the trip enjoyable and informative. The Kruja castle and museum were the best part of the tour, but we did also enjoy the stop in Durres. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is the amount of time spent driving between locations. While Adi did continue to teach us about the surrounding areas we drove through, we would have preferred to have visited only one of the 2 locations and had a more in-depth experience.
