Batu Caves
What to Expect at the Batu Caves Approaching the caves, the first thing you notice is a towering golden statue of Lord Murugan. Erected in 2006, this statue is the largest in the world dedicated to the deity and stands guard to the 272 leg-burning steps that lead up to the cave entrances. Resting points along the stairs provide nice views of the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur. Some Things to Know Before Visiting the Batu Caves Admission to Batu Caves is free. The caves are open all year from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The area is not very handicap-accessible, so senior travelers may have difficulty getting up the stairs to the entrances. The wild caves are very muddy; bring a change of clothes if you plan to take any of the spelunking tours. There are stalls and restaurants offering Indian food outside the entrance of the Batu Caves. PLEASE BRING A SHAWL OR SOMETHING TO COVER YOUR KNEES. SHORTS ARE NOT ALLOWED OR YOU WILL BE CHARGE MYR15 FOR A SHAWL AT BATU CAVES.
Istana Negara
The Istana Negara (Malay for National Palace) is the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the monarch of Malaysia. It is located along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (formerly Jalan Duta) in Segambut, northwestern Kuala Lumpur. The palace opened in 2011 and replaced the old Istana Negara which was located at a different compound in central Kuala Lumpur. The palace complex has an area of 97.65 hectares, 22 domes, and is split into three main portions: the Formal Component, Royal Component and Administration Component. Travelers cannot enter just can takes photo from outside.

5.00We took this tour from the cruise ship. They communicated early that it would be extra from the cruise ship as it is not a standard pickup. We paid about $30USD extra and it was well worth it. We had both a dedicated (private) driver AND guide. We are able to customize a bit so that we got back to the ship EARLY to handle any delays. Timing was smooth and easy. They take you to key sites and accompany you as well as explaining the background and history, if applicable. They key sites are listed in the tour description but does a good job hitting many highlights. Our tour guide was Imdra. Our local tour company was Travelcore. I would use the company and guide/driver and would encourage others too as well.

5.00We used Rosman Arie KL Exec Taxi Service. He is a knowledgeable driver/guide. He speaks English very well. He has a very wide grasp of information about Kuala Lumpur. We did talk about this visit the whole way. Very entertaining. He knows what traffic bottlenecks to avoid. I’m very satisfied of his service.

5.00Everything was absolutely perfect. Ramli is incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. We had very limited time in Kuala Lumpur since our cruise was only in port from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but thanks to Ramli we were able to see so much of the city in just a few hours. He organized everything perfectly, took us to all the main highlights, and even helped us take beautiful photos along the way. He truly made the most out of our short stop and made our experience smooth, stress-free, and unforgettable. We are so grateful for his dedication and highly recommend him to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur especially if you’re coming on a cruise with limited time.

5.00We had an absolutely fantastic experience on our Kuala Lumpur city tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our tour guide, Ramli. From the moment he picked us up, Ramli was extremely professional, punctual, and welcoming. He made each stop interesting and meaningful. Ramli took us to all the highlights and always gave us great context and helpful tips at each location. He was also incredibly patient and made sure everyone in our group was comfortable and enjoying the experience. What really set him apart was how attentive and thoughtful he was. He took beautiful family pictures for us at every stop, suggested the best photo spots, and even took a selfie with us to capture the memory. He truly went above and beyond what we expected from a tour guide. Highly recommended!!! If you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur, do yourself a favor and tour with Ramli. You’ll be in excellent hands.

5.00Great day with Rosman and Radiz. They wanted us to have so much fun. They recommended some attractions and escorted us all day. Try the 3D art museum at the central market.
