We did a couple of trips staying in Siem Reap, but this was by far the most versatile one. A lot of culture, visiting the spring of the holy river with the 1000 Lingas, an hour drove through Cambodias beautifull landscape and finishing the sportive way, under the Kulen waterfalls. Great guide, learning us a lot about history and Buddhist ans Hinduist way of life. A must do.

Huge kudos to our Siem Reap Kulen Mountain road trip guide John and the driver Wee for an exceptional experience. He was extremely polite, deeply knowledgeable about Phnom Kulen, and explained the history and local culture beautifully. Most of all, his genuine care, patience, and attention to our comfort made the trip truly memorable.

We had an amazing experience on this Kulen Waterfall Tour. Mr. Tola was very insightful and knowledgeable on our destinations and full of such happy and kind energy. He made the trip very enjoyable and fun at every stop with great stories, jokes and offering to take photos too. I accidentally injured myself by tripping over and Mr Tola came straight to my aid and fixed me up very efficiently and caringly. I appreciated this so much and it did not put a single dent in my wonderful experience. The food was delicious and organised very well at a great restaurant. Our driver Mr. Lis was extremely kind and generous, opening the doors for us and providing us with ice cold waters and wet wipes. Always with a welcoming smile. It was very much appreciated and made the journey very enjoyable. I can’t thank Mr Tola and Mr Lis enough for giving us an unforgettable experience for our first day in Cambodia. We loved every stop on this beautiful journey and highly recommend!!

A METRE in front of me was a sheer drop to the valley below. I stood on the edge of a cliff on Kulen Mountain marvelling at the sweeping views before me on a day that rapidly produced a string of memories. It was the first of four sites we visited and it wasn't for the faint-hearted. If you come here then watch your step because rock surfaces are uneven while back from the cliff itself are areas with numerous tree roots waiting to trip up the unwary. That said, any reasonably able bodied person should be able to traverse the area easily with a little caution. When we left we moved on to the river of a thousand lingas where we saw how ancients had made numerous carvings into the bed of a river. Our third site visit was to a giant reclining buddha figure before we rounded the day off with a visit to the spectacular Kulen waterfalls. Many people brought swimming shorts and costumes to swim out towards the falls and cool off in the heat. Be aware that if you make the long staircase descent to the base of the falls -- where there are cabinets for $1 for people to leave their belongings in -- you should take extreme care. The staircase is very steep, can be exhausting in the heat and should be taken slowly as there must be close to 200 steps. Your reward at the bottom is the thunder of the falls and the excited calls of swimmers splashing about in the base pools. A major piece of advice is to pick your time to visit Kulen very carefully. There are a number of well manned mountain checkpoints and they are not there for show. A very strict system is used for visitors to the mountain because of its single main access road which operates as an entry only road until lunchtime when it switches to become solely an exit road. No access is permitted during the second half of the day so get there early if you can.

Today was a well paced visit to Phnom Kulen National Park and the mountain on which the first Ankor City was built. Our guide Chenda and driver Cheom took us on a journey which included the pink sandstone cliffs (the source of stone for the ancient Ankor city), the 1000 Lingas which turned the spring water source of the Siem Reap river into holy water, a massive reclining Buddha and the fabulous Phnom Kulen waterfall. Chenda, an ex archaeologist was a wonderful guide, full of historical knowledge, keeping us engaged end entertained at all times. He also got some great photos of us from some angles that he knew well, eagerly sharing those with us all at the end of the trip. Both Chenda and Cheom were really helpful, considerate and appreciative which made our trip a fantastic experience.
