Discover Kutná Hora the comfortable way — without the rushing typical of most tours. Spend a full day exploring in a small group at a relaxed, unhurried pace.
After convenient hotel pickup in Prague, we begin at a rarely visited folk village museum. We peek into traditional huts and learn about Czech crafts and traditions.
After lunch, we explore Kutná Hora, once one of Europe’s richest towns. Visit two cathedrals, stroll cobblestone lanes and see the Royal Mint and Palace. We also stop at viewpoints or meet artisans like a winemaker, ceramicist or jeweler.
We end the day at the Bone Church (Sedlec Ossuary), visiting in the late afternoon when it is usually quieter, before returning to Prague.
Please note: The folk museum is closed on Mondays and in winter (Nov, Dec 31–Mar 15). On these dates, we visit alternatives such as Český Šternberk Castle or the Folk Costume Museum.

Polabske Narodopisne Museum Prerov nad Labem
Your guide will take you through a peaceful countryside museum filled with timbered cottages, barns, and historic interiors that capture centuries of Czech village life. Step inside homes, peek into an old schoolroom or stable, and discover folk traditions — some of which are still alive today. Please note: The open-air museum is closed on Mondays and seasonally in November and from December 31 to March 15. During these dates, we’ll visit another charming site that fits the spirit of the tour.

He even sent his live location! Ondrej kept the conversation lively and gave us all sorts of fun tidbits throughout the day. Kuna Hora was amazing. The Bone Church was impressive, the garnet store was beautiful, and the churches were stunning. I learned about Bohemia glass and Czech garnets. All the hidden gems sprinkled throughout the day were really special and I ended up with so many keepsakes. There was time for a little wine, a little souvenir shopping, and lunch was delightful. Of all the tours I took in Prague that week, this service was above and beyond- from the wifi in the van, to Ondrej helping me out with things that needed translation. I highly recommend taking this tour and any other tours from Czech Out tours. Read less

5.00Andew is very personal and knowledgeable and his English is superb. I personally like someone who is honest that if they don't know something they say so and look it up and then tell you what the answer is versus just telling you something hoping you will believe them. Andrew also arranged for us to get lunch at a very popular local restaurant. The meal was delicious and Andrew arranged things such that we had only a short wait. We chose this tour because of the inclusion of the Folk Village which was not an option with the other tour we considered. This outdoor museum provided insight into the lives of people living in small rural villages during the mid to late nineteenth century. The visit to Kutna Hora was enjoyable and informative about the economic life of ancient Bohemia with regards a silver mining and related production of coinage. It's apparent that Kutna Hora was once a very prosperous town and it's filled with traditional Bohemian architecture and streetscapes. There is also of course the very impressive Gothic/Baroque cathedral which is open to the public.

5.00My husband and I took this tour with Ondrej. He was a terrific tour guide, very knowledgeable and professional. He was prompt at pickup and very friendly. Even though he had a cancellation, he still ran the tour. The castle and churches were fabulous and the bone church was spectacular. He constantly went out of his way to make sure we had a fun, educational outing. I would highly recommend this tour or any tour he provides.

5.00It was a terrific. Ondrej was a consummate professional. Friendly and knowledgeable, he went out of his way to make us comfortable and welcome. When one of the sites was closed on the day of the tour, he readily substituted an additional which we thought was an excellent choice. He made sure we knew this in advance so there would be no surprises. When there was a cancellation which would allow him it cancel this excursion, h did not and honored our reservation. This is above and beyond customer service. We felt we got more than our moneys worth on this booking and would have booked with him again if we were staying longer in Prague. He was definitely one of the best tour guides we have met.

5.00We just returned from a wonderful week in Prague and our Kutna Hora day trip with guide Ondrej Horak with Czech Out Tours was a huge highlight. From promptly picking us up at the hotel and expertly driving us to the medieval village, we knew we were on our way to a great adventure. Ondrej not only knew every inch of this town, his enthusiasm and knowledge both informed and entertained us, from the majestic views and stories of Cesky Stemberk, one of the oldest castles in the country, to the mysterious bone and skull decorations of the Bone Church. Besides seeing two cathedrals, we explored winding lanes and enjoyed tucked away shops and dined at a local restaurant with a fine selection of lunch options and good service. Not only an expert of local history and a great raconteur of stories, Ondrej truly enjoys guiding and has a passion to share his love of his country. My daughter and I cannot thank him enough for a truly remarkable tour of this beautiful town which set the tone for discovering the magic of Prague and its unique villages. This small group tour is a true wonder.
