Kathmandu
Our representative from Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will then be transferred to the hotel at the heart of Kathmandu city. Our staff will assist you until the check-in procedure ends at the Hotel. You can either have rest at the hotel or visit NGT's office for collecting information about the trip. In the evening, please join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.
Kathmandu
Today we will spend most of our day sightseeing around some of the world heritage sites of UNESCO inside Kathmandu valley. Most importantly we will complete all the necessary paper works and make other preparations required for Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing. Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for day sightseeing.
Phakding
After having our breakfast at the hotel, we will be transferred to the domestic airport for an early morning scenic mountain flight to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Khumbu and entire Everest region. After landing at Lukla we start our trek passing through beautiful Sherpa villages and dense rhododendron forest along the left bank of Dudh Koshi river. Our trek goes through pine forest and painted mani walls as we head towards Phakding, where we make a stop for our overnight stay.
Namche Bazaar
From Phakding we begin our trek by crossing a long suspension bridge and then follow the trail that passes through the small village of Benkar before crossing the Dudh Koshi river once again. After crossing the river we will follow the trail that climbs to the village of Monjo. Our uphill trekking through densely forested area continues as we arrive at Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park entry post where we must register before heading further. We continue our trek from there by descending over stone steps to another suspension bridge. We cross the bridge and make a final climb to arrive at Namche Bazaar - The Sherpa Capital.
Overnight in Lodge
Namche Bazaar
By now we are technically over 3000 meters above the sea level. So, acclimatization is very crucial to avoid mental and physical illness and to ensure our successful summit climb of Kyajo-Ri Peak. Hence, today we will take a day rest at Namche Bazaar for exploration and acclimatization. Namche is an extensive market town where there always things to see and places to explore. Besides, Namche offers some good hikes options for best acclimatization. We can hike up to Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary, or take an hours' hike to Syangboche for magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru and the majestic Ama Dablam.
Lodge
Thame
After spending a good day rest and exploring around Namche Bazaar we follow the trail that heads west as we trek up the Bhote Khosi Valley, once a popular trading route into Tibet. We will have great views of Kwangde Peak to our left and trek along cascading waterfalls. Our trek goes passing through dense rhododendron forest and takes a path to the right just before the village of Thamo. We will climb steeply for about an hour towards the hamlet of Mende, where we spend our overnight.
Tented Camp
Leaving Mende we will follow a faint Yak trail over a couple of passes to enter Kyajo Drangka which is an isolated broad valley located south of Kyajo Ri. During our trek today, we will have great views of Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru, Kwangde Peak, Parchamo Peak and other surrounding snow-capped peaks. After a few hours of uphill trekking, we will arrive at the summer yak pasture ground where we will set up our base camp. Our Sherpa crew will set up the camp and make necessary preparations for setting up camps at higher altitudes and start making checks on our climbing gears.
Tented Camp
We have reached over 4500 meters above sea level by now, so in order to avoid altitude sickness, we will take a rest day for acclimatization at the base camp. Besides, we will have great views of surrounding peaks and mountain valleys from the base camp. For acclimatization, we can hike following the fascinating trails that offer magnificent views of snow-capped mountains. While we spend our day exploring around base camp, our Sherpa crew will make necessary checks and preparations of our climbing gears needed for Kyajo Ri Peak climbing.
Tented Camp
After spending a full day rest at the Base Camp, we continue on our uphill trekking to higher altitudes. We will make a climb over grassy spurs and boulders before following a steep rocky trail upwards to reach a good camping site at 5,200 meters where we will set up our Camp I. We will have magnificent views of Kyajo Ri Peak and pristine glacial lakes. We will camp here at Camp I before heading up to higher altitudes.
Tented Camp
Another day's rest for acclimatization is a must to ensure a successful summit climb and to avoid mental and physical sickness that may arise due to altitude sickness. Hence, today we will take a rest at Camp I and indulge ourselves in some good hikes that offer good acclimatization options with best views of surrounding high peaks. Our crew will make necessary checks to our health conditions and other climbing equipment required for successful Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing.
Tented Camp
After spending a good acclimatization day at Camp I, we head further into higher altitudes. Today's climb includes technical climbing over rocks and glaciers so we need to make use of fixed ropes and crampons. After a few hours of the tiring climb, we will arrive at a good camping site near a big glacial lake at an altitude of 5,700 meters. Once we reach our campsite, our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camp and start making necessary preparations for the final summit climb, the following day.
Tented Camp
Today is a day we were desperately waiting for as we will make a final climb to the summit. Fully equipped and properly acclimatized we start early with the vision to reach the summit before noon as the strong winds after midday can create barriers making it impossible to reach the summit. Following the instructions and guidance of our experienced climbing experts, we will overcome several technical sections and head towards the sharp summit of Kyajo Ri Peak. Our tiring climb to the summit is rewarded with splendid views of the world's towering mountains including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Baruntse, Ama Dablam and other surrounding high peaks. We will spend short quality time at the top before descending down following the same route and head back to Camp II.
Tented Camp
After successfully accomplishing the summit of Kyajo Ri Peak, we will take it easy and after having breakfast we start to retrace our steps back from Camp II and follow the same trail back that descends down passing through Camp I. We continue to descend vigorously downhill to finally arrive at the base camp for our overnight camping.
Lodge
Namche Bazaar
Leaving our camping site at the Base camp, we will continue to retrace our steps that lead back through Mende. We will leave the alpine vegetation and enter into the sub-tropical forested area filled with rhododendron trees. A rather easy trek will lead us back to Namche Bazaar.
Hotel/Resort
Lukla
Today is the last day of our trek. Leaving Namche Bazaar our trek is a pleasant walk that passes along dense rhododendron forest, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to Bhote Koshi River - crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of about forty-five minutes will bring us back to Lukla. After arriving at Lukla we will celebrate the successful completion of our Kyajo Ri Peak Climbing together with our team members.
Hotel/Resort
Kathmandu
After breakfast, we will take an early morning scenic mountain flight from Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. After landing at Kathmandu airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. You can either have rest at the hotel or instead visit sites (world heritage sites of UNESCO) that weren't possible on the second day of the trip. You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. Also, walking around the market streets of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. In the evening we will have a final meal together for celebrating the completion of the trip.

This is an awesome trip. Right from the start was looked after really well. Prakash is always around to answers my any questions. Our plane to Lukla was cancelled due to bad weather but we fly next day to Lukla. Our Guide Sona Sherpa far surpassed any guides we met anywhere in their knowledge of area and experience level. During the trip, our guide Sona always look after us and follow the rule what he told us. The guide ensured everyone was roping off strongly and correctly. we did successfully summit the kyajo ri peak, all credit goes to Sona. Views were stunning from the top and memorable lifetime experience. Thanks to organizing Nepal Guide Treks team successfully trip of kyajo peak specially Prakash, Guide Sona and Porters who help us a lot. We will be back to Nepal in the future and will not even bother trying any other trekking agency.

I did a solo trip with Nepal Guide Treks to take on Kyajo ri peak in 18 days. My experience with Nepal Guide Treks was great and adventures peak climbing. When I arrived in Kathmandu, I warmly received by hotel staff of Aryatara hotel, They drop me in Hotel. After spending a few days exploring kathmandu city and meeting my climbing guide, Lakpa Sherpa and Mr. Prakash (owner), everything told detailed about Kyajo ri peak. Next day, we flew out to Lukla to begin our trek. Throughout the trek, my guide and porter were incredibly supportive and taught me about their culture and surrounding himalaya. Despite the Kyajo ri peak is trekking peak but that peak was difficult to climb for me. Without my guide, I cannot successfully climb this peak. I was immensely satisfied with the climb. Despite the technical and logistical challenging of this trip, Nepal guide treks were handled perfectly. During trekking and climbing, they were extremely accommodating and most importantly communication which all helped to climb successfully. It was life long memory and experience himalaya of Nepal. I loved it. Next time, I will come with my friends to do trekking around Annapurna Thanks to my guide Lakpa Sherpa, Prakash and all those peoples who support me during climbing.
