Melanie was an amazing guide. She is friendly and shared a lot of information about the evolution of the geisha industry. She explained the differences btwn geiko and maiko. I highly recommend Melanie.

We just returned from our family vacation in Japan and we all agreed that our day in Kyoto was the highlight of the trip. One of the best parts was our tour through the Gion district, learning about the Geisha and the history behind this unique and still current tradition of Geisha working in tea houses. Our guide was so kind and so knowledgeable of the area since she grew up in that area. She gave us first hand knowledge of the best places to visit in the area, too. I'm so glad we booked this walking tour. It was a great experience that we'll remember for a long time.
Terrific time. Five stars!

We had a great time with Nami! She explained a lot of details about the geishas history, local habits of teahouses and showed us some hidden gems in Kyoto evening. Group was only 7 people so perfect as well!
