  Review for Pedro – One by Nature We had an unforgettable tour with Pedro from One by Nature. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife and plants, but also has a gentle, warm energy that makes you feel instantly at ease. Pedro guided us through the forest with so much care and attention. He invited us to use all our senses — to listen, smell, touch, and truly connect with nature. Thanks to his sharp eyes (and peaceful pace), we were lucky enough to spot several sloths in the trees, along with many other animals and plants we would have easily missed on our own. What made this tour stand out was Pedro’s deep respect for nature and his calm, loving way of sharing it. It felt personal, meaningful, and far from a touristy experience.   My daughter and I first met Pedro eight years ago on a 10-day tour of Costa Rica, where he was an outstanding guide. When planning a trip with our whole family this year, we reached out to Pedro for a recommendation for a nature walk. We were thrilled that he was available to guide us himself. Pedro led us on several trails in Arenal Volcano National Park, and the experience was exceptional. His deep knowledge of the area, wildlife, and ecosystems was remarkable, and he shared it in a way that was engaging for all ages. He accommodated our multi-generational family (ages 1½ to 70) with ease, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and included. We highly recommend One With Nature for anyone looking to explore Costa Rica with a guide who is professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does.

  We actually didn’t do one of the planned tours. We coordinated directly with One With Nature as I was a part of a student study abroad trip from Berry College that hired One With Nature to act as guides in country and help with our itinerary. Our trip was focused on tropical animal diseases and One Health. Our guide, Marvin Araya, was amazing and coordinated with local businesses, schools and farms that provided lectures and hands on experiences. He knew in some capacity everyone we visited and was incredibly knowledgeable about local species and climates as well. I could not recommend One With Nature more as a travel company for Central America.   Marvin provided us with an incredible private night walk experience. He and his company were recommended to us specifically from a tour guide in Monteverde and it did not disappoint. Marvin is extremely knowledgeable, a true conservationist, and works with universities and groups around the world to protect our environment. When you book with this group you are getting the best of the best. I will also note that there was a mix up with our transportation which was completely my fault and Marvin went out of his way to ensure we got back to our hotel - thanks again!!!

  We had a phenomenal day of birdwatching and hiking with Pedro. Pedro is an absolutely exceptional guide — he is a serious and highly knowledgeable wildlife specialist with tremendous expertise in Costa Rican flora and fauna. We were so grateful for his keen eye and vast repository of knowledge about birds, local geography, animals, flowers, plants, and the history of the Arenal Volcano and surrounding lava fields. Thanks to Pedro’s expert and discerning wildlife skills, we spotted the iconic toucan, innumerable gorgeous tanagers, howler monkeys, hawks, spider monkeys, a mother and baby sloth, and dozens of smaller species. He hikes with a top of the line Swarovski birdwatching scope, which supplied us with dozens of memorable photos of Costa Rica’s most famous wildlife. We could have NOT have experienced such a hugely successful hiking and wildlife day without his knowledgeable guidance. He is a lovely, enthusiastic and warm person who also helpfully speaks fluent English. Thank you Pedro for a once-in-a lifetime day in Arenal!

  Incredible experience, Julio our guide was very friendly and attentive throughout the entire tour, we were fortunate to see a tapir and the park almost to ourselves, 100% recommended for the whole family

  Fantastic private tour with One With Nature. Our guide, Marvin, was very knowledgable and passionate about the rain forest. He let us set the pace throughout the day, and the lunch at a private home was so authentic and delicious I'm still thinking about that soup! Uriel was an exceptional driver on those winding roads.

  Pedro is energetic, kind and SO knowledgeable. He taught us about the history, wildlife and flora of Costa Rica — and even chased after some toucan. I could not recommend a better tour guide and friend!
