We have brought fun and excitement and mixed it in with the beauty and cultural experiences the lake has to offer. We depart from our office in Panajachel and head over to the colorful village of Santa Catarina Palopo. In this village we are able to see and learn about local weavings, blankets, nahuales and other goods made and sold by the locals. At the plaza of this village, we visit a local coffee house where you can grind your own coffee and taste the locally grown beans. Once finished in Santa Catarina we hop back on our ATVs to the village of San Antonio Palopo. We visit local ceramic factory where we learn about the process to make all these incredible goods. You are unable to book a reservation only with a passenger rate; you must have a driver rate as well.

We visit a local Ceramic factory to learn about the process and see how it is made. we also visit the local Chocolate factory, the dock and shops by the water
Santa Catarina Palopo
During this stop we are able to learn and see local weavings, clothing, blankets, and many of the local goods made at this village. We also visit the local cultural center where we can taste some local coffee and chocolate, and lastly head over to the dock where we can do some shopping or grab a snack and drinks at the waterfront restaurant.

5.00Amazing tour, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and lovely. Was not rushed at all, the places we went where amazing. You got to the local nearby villages which are amazing and very beautiful.Would 100% recommend anyone take this tour!

5.00I absolutely loved this tour!! Nehemías was a fantastic tour guide—super friendly, informative, and helpful. He always made sure we felt comfortable and even took amazing photos of us. This tour is a great way to see areas around the lake that you might not get to explore on foot. It was easily one of my favorite parts of my trip to Guatemala, and I would 100% recommend it!

5.00This was a great way to see beautiful towns along Lake Atitlan. Everyone as Simoon Tours was professional and kind from start to finish, especially our friendly and knowledgeable guide. If you want to learn about local culture, this is definitely one of the most fun ways to do it.

5.00We had quite a fun afternoon exploring the various villages around Lake Atitlan, visiting specialty vendors for coffee, chocolate, rum, textiles, ceramics, etc. Our guide Andre was really fun and did a great job of keeping us on track while also making special stops for photographs with great vistas. There was some walking, but for anyone with average mobility, this was a very accessible activity. (I’d bring my 75 year old cancer survivor mother along were she on the trip with me and she’d navigate it well.) A great way to see some of the less touristy villages and enjoy some truly breathtaking views of the lake and volcanoes.
