Discover the Natural Wonders of Lake Myvan, Nature Baths, Goddafoss waterfall AND the spectacular Dettifoss waterfall all in one day on this popular and great value tour with an experienced local guide. We set off from Akureryi stopping at the beautiful Godafoss waterfall also known as 'The Waterfall of the Gods' and then onto the famous Lake Myvatn. In Lake Myvatn we visit popular destinations including the Myvatn Nature baths, a geothermal lagoon with mineral rich water in the middle of lava fields, Skútustaðagígar, the psuedocrater area, with stunning views of the Lake Myvatn area, the Dimmuborgir Lava formations also known as 'The Dark Castle', Game of thrones filming locations, the Mount Námafjall area where you can view the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and Natural steam vents/fumaroles and also the Grjotagja rift and cave. We also visit Dettifoss waterfall, Europes most powerful waterfall (conditions dependant). *Please note the entrance fee to the Nautre Baths is not included*

5.00We had the most wonderful day on this visit. It was snowing in Akureyri, which made the tour an ideal way to cover a lot of ground without the stress or risk of driving in wintery conditions. Pick-up and drop-off were both punctual, which we really appreciated. Our highlight was a dip in the thermal waters, which was not crowded on the day we visited. The landscape throughout was simply breathtaking, moving between dramatic waterfalls and ancient lava fields. Norbert was an excellent guide - we felt very safe with him and he was knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the area. We would absolutely book again with Imagine Iceland Travel. Highly recommended!

5.00Our guide Nordbert was amazing. He cared for everyone in the group and was very cautious about the weather conditions all the time. He even provided the group with spikes for the slippery terrains around Goddafoss and Dettifoss. He also told us so many curious facts about Iceland. Not the whole group wanted to visit the thermal baths, so he immediately found another thing for us to do. I would recommend this experience to anyone!

5.00Arman was a very good guide. He drove safely and had a positive attitude. I don’t recommend Myvatn Baths. It smells like sulfur and therefore made us smell like sulfur for days. It is expensive and there is not enough time to enjoy it. It is also under construction, so you will have a cranes in your pictures. Be ready and outside by 8:30am, not 9am. The other tours tell you this. The tour is really only 8 hours long. Good locations!

4.00This tour was INCREDIBLE!!! I was travelling with my nephews ages 11 and 14. We all had an incredible day! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because getting to Dettifoss was frankly dangerous. We should have been advised to wear crampons before the tour. As it was we had 1 hour to see the falls. It took us a full 30 mins to get there as it was solid ice paths. We had literally 2 mins to enjoy the falls (which were INCREDIBLE) and then had to get ourselves back. It was a really dangerous walk!

3.00This tour aim for too many places within a 9 hour duration is not practical. Dettifloss need more time as more than 1/2 of the group could not come back on time. Is no fault of the group as the walking path to the waterfall is far and flooding in certain part of path which nèed detour. Myvatn bath, 1 hour to experience is very rush and either you skip your lunch and do the bath or you skip the bath and take your lunch.
