The churches are here for at list 900 years,an active christen shrine, spiritual center of the country religious life.
Yemrehane kristos 45km north of lalibela, which is a church built within a natural cave under water ,almost 100years before the churches of lalibela.

Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela
We will meet at the airport of lalibela, drive 25km( 30 minutes) within spectacular view. After lunch we will drive to sites where we find a concentration of some of Ethiopia most famous Rock hewn churches, mostly referred by many as " the living wonders of the world " this churches are they have been here for at list 900 years , an active christen shrine, spiritual center of the country religious life. Then we will visit the 1st clusters of churches and this contains :-Bet- Medhalealem , Bet- maryam ,Bet- Meskel , Bet- Denagle , Bet- Mikael & Golgotha.
Lalibela - Rock-Hewn Churches
After breakfast, we will drive to Yemerhane Kirstos Cave Church. Yemrehan kistos ( cave church) built inside Natural cave under water at 11th century almost 100 years before the churches of Lalibela In the inside part of this cave church we will visit very old paintings. After Lunch, We will visit the second group of churches contains, Bete gebriel, rafael, bete emanuel, & bete Aba Libanos finally we will visit st George , the one in a shape of cross and most probably the highlight of you visit to Lalibela.

4.00Dan and his family are welcoming and kind. One thing I especially appreciated was that he invites all his clients to his home for lunch, which shows you another side of the life there. It was a lovely experience and something I enjoyed. Regarding the tour itself, the first day was very informative and interesting. Dan has a great depth of knowledge about the history and culture, and he clearly enjoys sharing it with his guests, which made the experience engaging and enriching. On the second day, the atmosphere felt a little different. It seemed slightly less enthusiastic than on the first day, and we eventually decided not to visit additional churches because our interest had decreased by that point, which was not Dans mistake! Overall, I sometimes had the impression that the reviews had more importance then giving us an unforgettable experience and the business side of things might have been a bit more of a priority during the tour. However, despite that, Dan is a knowledgeable guide and a friendly person, and we still had many positive moments during our time together. I still recommend him to friends who are visiting the area, as he does a good job and offers a very informative experience.

5.00We had an unforgettable experience in Lalibela thanks to our wonderful tour guide Danny. From the moment we started exploring the rock-hewn churches, his knowledge and passion for the history and spiritual significance of the site made everything come alive. He explained the stories behind each church with clarity and enthusiasm, helping us understand not only the architecture but also the deep religious traditions that surround Lalibela. It felt less like a tour and more like stepping into a living history book. Beyond his expertise, he was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive to our pace and interests. He answered all our questions, shared fascinating local insights, and made sure we had the best viewpoints and moments of quiet reflection. If you are visiting Lalibela, having a guide like him truly transforms the experience. We left with a much deeper appreciation for this extraordinary place and its heritage. Highly recommended! 5.00Daniel, great guide! Gave us a great tour of Lalibella during Christmas celebrations! Despite the gigantic number of people, was able to find some less crowded locations for us with great views. Very punctual, responsible and affable (not every guide in Ethiopia and in Africa in general matches such qualities). Everything was perfectly organized! I recommend it!

5.00Dan is an excellent guide, very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He organised all our tour just over the Internet and didn't ask for any money up front! This covered internal flights, hotel's on an all inclusive basis, driver in a nice clean minibus and all entrance fee's. Which we thought was very good. We arranged our international flights and Dan was waiting for us at the airport. Highly recommend Dan.

5.00Dan should be your first choice when planning and booking your Ethiopian journey. All you have to do is get to the capital Addis Abbas and Dan will organise the rest. Lalibela is a beautiful place. Very safe, homely and friendly. Had many tour guides in the past and Dan organise the rest of our trip, The Dankil Depression and Church in the sky Tigray are must. We even met Dan's family and enjoyed a meal. Ethiopia should be on everyone's bucket list

5.00Daniel recently showed me around Lalibela for 3 days and was a wonderful guide! He was really considerate and adjusted the schedule to do things that I was interested in. Daniel's father was a priest so he has a lot of special insights into the churches and culture. Having homemade lunch with his family was a true highlight. He was very respectful, and which was important to me as a solo female traveller. Daniel also helped me plan a trip to Harar and Arba Minch (Konso & Dorze) and coordinated fantastic local guides in each place. Highly recommended!!!

5.00Dan showed me around the 11 churches of Lalibela, hewn directly from the rock, the Saturday market and the cave church at Yemrehan Kristos in about a day and half. He organized everything from airport pickup to drop off. It was an amazing experience. Dan is local, deeply knowledgeable about Lalibela, its history and its cultural importance. I learned so much in his company in this fascinating and beautiful place. The churches, still active today, have been here for thousand years. Stand out, Beta Maryam, Emmanuel, Raphael and Gabriel, Yemrehan Kristos and of course, Beta Giorgos, and the incredible landscapes of this region.
