We spent 5 days in lamu and had the chance to meet Kassim who was our guide for the whole stay. We were able to enjoy sunset on the beautiful Dhow, boat days with meals included, visit the old town with the neighborhood schools. Kassim guided us with kindness and professionalism and made us discover all the hidden corners of this small island paradise! I highly recommend it!

Having Kassim as our guide felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with a close friend who happens to be a true local of Lamu. Our one-day city walk with him was so engaging and memorable that we immediately booked a sunset dhow tour as well, and we loved running into him throughout the day like old friends. Even though we had only just met, Kassim made us feel instantly comfortable as if we’d known him for years. Both experiences were absolutely fantastic and made truly special by his warmth, knowledge, and genuine passion for Lamu. As someone who gets seasick very easily, I was especially impressed that I had zero issues on the dhow, even without taking any medication. I can’t recommend Kassim highly enough, he made our time in Lamu unforgettable. Top it all off, he’s one of the best photographers! You’ll get great photos on top of a wonderful time!

Everyone will tell you: Kassim is the best guide on Lamu Island. I am really lucky to have come across him. He knows every corner of this magnificent island, will take you to visit the most beautiful spots, and introduce you to the rich Swahili culture: crafts, music, art, food, but also the gentle way of life and warm welcome of this kind-hearted people. Kassim is committed to showcasing the authentic skills of the local people by introducing you to them, especially the women, who are brimming with extraordinary talents. I visited the town of Lamu, explored the ruins of Takwa, visited the village of Mantondoni, experienced a magnificent sunset on a traditional boat, cooked with extraordinary Swahili women, met artisans, listened to Swahili songs... and many other surprises! I spent five incredible days in Lamu, a heavenly stay entrusted from start to finish to Kassim. As a solo traveler, I always felt surrounded and safe, as if I had always been there. I left with stars in my eyes and smiles in my heart. Thank you, Kassim, for everything.
