Our Lantern Making Class is situated on the mainstreet to the Hoi An old town, from our place you can access to almost famous destinations in Hoi An Old Town.
Immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture with a lantern-making class. Select from full and express options. In the full activity, make the lanterns completely from scratch. In the express activity, start with the bamboo structure of the lanterns already made and begin by choosing your lantern fabric.

Welcome to our lantern-making class! We are a family with a tradition of making lanterns in Hoi An. As tourism is booming, we would like to spread our love and desire for lanterns as well as inherited the tradition that ran in the family. We believe that this would be a great chance for those who want to learn about the history of lantern and how it is made. On top of that, this class can be considered a good way for tourists to interact with local people and make yourself a lovely souvenir to bring home.Warmest welcome to our workshop Before getting into the making of your own lanterns, you will have a chance to get to know about all the materials that make up a lantern. In this long class, you will craft your own lantern from scratch, using a bamboo frame and fabric of your choice. You will learn how to cut, bend and glue the bamboo pieces to form the shape of your lantern. Then you will select a fabric from a variety of colors and patterns, and stick it on the frame with glue. You will also learn about the history and culture of lantern making in Hoi An. This class is suitable for anyone who loves crafts and wants to take home a unique souvenir. Steps of making a lantern

5.00You can pick between a shprt or longer option but both allow you to pick your material. We did the longer option which allows you to build the lantern shape of your choice and glue the material to it. The ladies were super helpful and we really enjoyed making our lanterns and came away with a lovely reminder of Hoi An.

5.00Meeting place incorrect on Viator. Go directly to venue which is down an alley before the red Japanese Bridge. Ladies are fabulous and patient! Great time had. Love my lantern. Wish I had booked for two hours and made two lanterns.

5.00Lynn and her team lead a fantastic lantern making workshop for people of all ages and speed were able to make beautiful lanterns. They are foldable lanterns so a great keepsake to take home and it was in an amazing location in the old town. ❤️
