Your private guide will meet you at Beijing Capital International Airport ( PEK) . The meet point is Starbucks which close by arrival gate ( Exit B) . It will takes about 1.5 hours through immigration for your first time layover. Your driver will hold a sign with your name wait for you at meet point, and if you can not find your name, please go Information Center to call us , it is free service and close by arrival gate either.

Mutianyu Great Wall

It takes about 1.5 hours to drive from airport to Mutianyu great wall. Upon arrival, you can choose chairlift up to Tower 6, and spend around 1.5 to 2 hours on the great wall. Then, you can take toboggan down from there. Another option is to take cable car up to Tower 14, and take cable car down. If you scare about the height, cable car option might be better for you. If you want to have some excitement, chairlift up and toboggan down surely give you a lot more fun. If you need have lunch, your guide can recommend restaurants based on your requests.

A big thank you to my guide Eason for patiently waiting at the airport while I cleared customs. He made sure to get us safely and quickly out to the wall. The wall amazing but I think his ability to discuss so many topics regarding China has made me want to come back to experience more of the country. If you’ve got 8 hours, get off your butt and contact these guys. They’ll make your layover well worth it.

Our host did everything she could to accommodate us during this tour, from waiting patiently for us at the airport when our flight came in late, taking extra friends of ours who had decided they wanted to come with us last minute and even offering to get more transport to get all of us there (11 people in total). Water was provided throughout and a fantastic meal at the Great Wall itself. Tour was as long as we wanted, Host spoke excellent English and answered any questions we had and made the whole experience one we will never forget! Would recommend to anyone! Thank you!
