A tour that explores Hungary’s Habsburg heritage in Gödöllö. This charming town boasts a beautiful baroque palace that was once the spring and autumn residence of the royal couple - Franz Joseph and Sisi. Despite the fact that the building had to endure all the hardships of the 20th century, it is now among the most well-preserved palaces in the country and the only place where you can learn about the life of the Habsburgs from a personal perspective.

The Royal Palace of Gödöllő (German: Schloss Gödöllő, Hungarian: Gödöllői Királyi Kastély) or Grassalkovich Castle is an imperial and royal Hungarian palace located in the municipality of Gödöllő in Pest county, central Hungary. It is famous for being a favourite place of the Queen of Hungary.

5.00Erik was awesome he came on time a help us guiding our tour! He gave us a little tour around the city and help us pick a traditional Hungarian desert which was very delicious! I really recommend it if you want to know about “Empress Elizabeth” and story behind the royal family enjoy!

2.00We were picked up at our hotel in Budapest on time, but there was no narrative or dialog in English until we were dropped off at the Palace and handed a headset to find our way through. This was not what I would consider a "tour" - merely an overpriced transfer to/from Budapest.
