Centro Historico de Lima
Your first stop is Plaza San Martin, the second most important in the city. You will walk through the crowded Jirón de la Unión, appreciating the art deco and nouveau styles, and end up in the Main Plaza of Lima, where you will find: The Government Palace, The City Hall, La Casa del Oidor, The Cathedral, The Archbishopric, the old bronze Fountain, Taulichusco´s stone, Pasaje Olaya and Club de la Unión. While walking through the city our “Local Friend” will show you the Desamparados Train station and the oldest bar in the city: Cordano Bar. You will visit San Francisco Church, to appreciate religious art and the mysterious catacombs (The entry ticket is NOT included), OR instead, our “Local Friend” can help you bargain and do some shopping at the souvenir stores near there OR can accompany you to get some snacks in a local restaurant.
Barranco
Barranco is the bohemian district of Lima. In here you'll visit the bridge of sighs, the mirador, the old Ermita and the main park. Also, you'll have a nice look of the Pacific Ocean.

5.00We had a very nice tour of several areas of Lima that was tailored to our interests. We wanted to walk and our guide was exceptionally accommodating. We learn a lot from him and enjoyed our time.

5.00Our tour guide, Cindy, was excellent. She spoke in both English and Spanish as we had 1 non-English speaker and 1 non-Spanish speaker. We felt very safe with our driver. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Cindy. She always found an easier way for our handicapped people to get to where we were going. Thanks Cindy!

5.00My wife and I recently visited Peru for the holidays with my wife's sister and her husband. We spent time in both Lima and Cusco and we used Peruvian Local Friend to coordinate our entire visit. We had visited Peru back in 2017 and had the good fortune to meet Peruvian Local Friend and we were happy to be able to use their services again. They provided three different tour guides for three different tours that we did with them and all of them - Cindy, Evelyn and Cory - were excellent! So much knowledge and so much information shared! We did a city tour of Lima, Cusco and then Machu Pichu. Everything was great! And not only did they provide the tours for us, they also arranged all of our transportation and transfers. We did not have to worry about a thing! Peruvian Local Friend made our trip easy and informative! It was truly a pleasure to work with them again!!

5.00I told Sandra at PLF, we wanted to see select sites we hadn’t seen plus Lima from a local’s perspective. Sandra and our guide Rodrigo delivered a 5 star tour for us. We visited places most tourists don’t see. Rodrigo was an oracle of information about Lima and Peru and their relationship in history and the present. If you want a 5 star tour of Lima, call Sandra at PLF and request Rodrigo to be your guide. After contacting Sandra her responses to my many questions were immediate. She also helped with transportation logistics…a lifesaver for a non Spanish speaking client.

5.00We had been on a small group tour of Peru and had a day before our return flight home. I'd booked to be picked up and returned to the airport, and to see Barranco and other areas. The tour was planned to be flexible around us and what we wanted to see. Our driver was Cesar, who was an excellent, careful driver. I've no idea how he keeps so calm driving around Lima every day! We met Cindy in Barranco and started our walking tour. She listened to what we wanted to do and advised us to have lunch there - an amazing spot, Restaurant Javier, overlooking the sea and great seafood. Being our last meal in Peru we were greedy and had lots left but it wasn't too expensive. We explored some more of the area, including a lovely gallery/ craft shop. We then drove above Chirolles to look at the bay of Lima overall and then a wander round the fisherman's area. This was Cindy's home area growing up, and she was evidently proud of it and the friendly people, with no other European tourists in sight. A quick drive past one of the 100 pyramids in Lima with a photo stop (we had no idea they existed from our very limited group tour of the city) then through San Isidro, with a wander through the park. This tour gave us a completely different view from the tour at the start of our Peru trip - it felt like the previous tour had just been to buildings and hadn't given us any feeling for the entire city. Highly recommend the flexible approach of the company in planning our tour and specifically Cindy in delivering such a great experience.
Lima After Noon + Larco Museum tour

5.00We did the Lima After Noon city tour and added a visit to the Larco Museum. It was very easy to communicate and adjust the tour to our liking ahead of time. Our guide, Cindy (with driver Cesar), arrived on time to our hotel to begin the tour. We didn't follow the exact order of sites listed on the website, but Cindy adjusted the order to give us a better experience by avoiding traffic and busy times at certain locations. She was very knowledgeable and easy to spend a day with around Lima. We learned so much about the history of the city. Cindy also provided us with many good suggesting about other things to do and eat after our time together was over. I would highly recommend visiting the Larco Museum with a guide like Cindy; she was able to tell us the stories of many of the pieces, where on our own we would have tired out halfway through reading placards. Whenever we return to Lima, Peruvian Local Friend will certainly be used to tour more in and around town.

5.00Absolutely cannot praise this company and guide enough. Extremely convenient, worked with my interests, and allowed me to really see some of the city on an unexpected layover. Highlights were street art in Barranco, ceviche lunch in a local restaurant (really - try chicha), the Larco Museum, and the Ariaga House. And a churro! One of the most fun travel experiences of my life.
