Is the main cathedral of the Portugal capital that was built in the mid XII century. Here you will find out why the outside facade reminds of a fortress wall.
Alongside history and tradition, Pastéis de Belém is widely recognised as the patisserie to sample the authentic pastel de nata (custard tart) in Lisbon. In 1837, the tarts started to be produced in new premises by pastry chefs, the only ones to whom the secret monastery recipe was passed on. Since then, the original recipe hasn’t changed, and it’s still a secret today, known by only a few, and kept in what is known as the “secret room”.

5.00We had a wonderful day with Lucia, our guide. She is enthusiastic and passionate about Lisbon. We learned a lot about the history of Lisbon and its various neighbourhoods. We saw all the major sites within and around the city, including Belem and Almada. I highly recommend this company.
