Alongside history and tradition, Pastéis de Belém is widely recognised as the patisserie to sample the authentic pastel de nata (custard tart) in Lisbon. In 1837, the tarts started to be produced in new premises by pastry chefs, the only ones to whom the secret monastery recipe was passed on. Since then, the original recipe hasn’t changed, and it’s still a secret today, known by only a few, and kept in what is known as the “secret room”.

We highly recommend Discover with us as your tour company. We took their Lisbon Tour with Lucia as our Tour Guide. She was the best! We were able to see all of the old city and the newer city as well as the surrounding areas. She met our every need and was a joy to be with.

We had a wonderful day with Lucia, our guide. She is enthusiastic and passionate about Lisbon. We learned a lot about the history of Lisbon and its various neighbourhoods. We saw all the major sites within and around the city, including Belem and Almada. I highly recommend this company.

We had an incredible experience with Discover With Us (DWU) thanks to Alex and Dimitry. Due to a technical glitch, our same-day booking went through late, and all guides had already left. We were alone on this one! Lucia was our guide!!! She was Awesome again! We fully recommend Discover with us to anyone! Today we spent the day around Lisbon! We thought that it would be less walking and was the second longest of the three tours! I have pictures of the bridge from every angle which shows the ground we covered! Again Lucia was very knowledgeable as she was born and grown up here in Lisbon!!!
