  Interesting experience. The guide told us about the history of the people of Slovenia and the history of the castle. In some places that recalled particular historical periods, actors were good at acting out short scenes in costumes of the time.

  This is a top attraction in Ljubljana and definitely not to miss experience. You can go there by funicular, try to come earlier to avoid the big crowds. The castle itself is very interesting and offers the best views over the city. There are some small museums on the territory of the castle, we especially loved the puppet one, really good and will please the children and adults alike,

  Was an awesome tour and the guide was fantastic. Please take the funicular up well worth the cost it is up there. Also, you may incur some cost, but it is a vacation.

• Interesting castle. I recommend buying a ticket to go to the tower.

  I made the funicular to go up to the castle. I did a guided tour that I liked a lot. Then I went to visit several areas . I bought a ticket that allowed me to go to the tower. It is not very cheap, but going to the castle and not going to the tower to see the extraordinary views of the city, it is something you should not miss. in the space between walls, outdoors, there is garden area, restaurants and a bar. I had lunch at a very nice restaurant. I also watched a very interesting historical recreation. In short, it was a couple of hours well spent!

  We did the time travelling tour and it was good fun, the guide really knew her stuff (didn’t catch her name - 11am tour 15th) and the actors were good story tellers!

  Sitting atop a mountain overlooking the city, it casts an imposing figure. The easiest way to get up is to take the funicular rail car which is in itself a very interesting piece of kit. Once you get to the castle, about 30 seconds in the funicular, you have a series of signs and steps directing you to the next level. Shortly you clear the steps and are within the walls of the castle. Not quite what I expected. An armoury display set inside a room the size of a London phonebox, a political art display, a couple of towers to climb that overlook the city (the best part), a 4D movie telling the history of the castle and region, a puppetry museum, and a history museum.

  This was really good - a great way for children (ours are 7 and 9) to learn about the history of the castle without it being too didactic. Excellent guide and animators who brought it to life and pitched it at a suitable level. It’s worth getting the ticket that includes the Time Machine therefore - lots of similar attractions in all locations could learn from the way this is done.
