At the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, you’ll descend into an underground world carved entirely out of salt. As you walk through the impressive tunnels and chambers, your guide will explain the history of the salt mines and how they were transformed into one of Colombia’s most iconic landmarks. You’ll explore the Stations of the Cross, admire the main altar 180 meters underground, and discover stunning salt sculptures, illuminated walls, and massive columns that create a peaceful, almost spiritual atmosphere. The tour includes time to enjoy the cathedral’s light show, visit its small salt museum, and browse the gift shop with local artisan products made from salt and stone. It was a great experience! Get to know the cathedral, salt ovens, the village and about the craft beer process. David was a very kind person, he taught us a lot about Colombia and its people. The wafers were amazing!!! A highly recommended tour, allows you to know not only the cathedral but also the history of where it is located

This was an amazing experience- the highlight so far of my first visit to Colombia. David is such a lovely man, so proud of his country and his home town. He was so interesting to talk to. A great guide. Gave us plenty of time on our own, to explore and take our time but ready to be there whenever we were ready. The salt cathedral itself is absolutely mesmerising. Not to be missed if you are in the area and we would highly recommend you take David as your tour guide.

We had a great experience with David, touring from Bogota to Zipaqueria, experiencing the unique town and setting. A great beer tasting, learning of the Salt Ovens and how Salt plays into the local culture. We finished the tour at the Salt Cathedral which is unlike anything we've seen in the world, and capped off with a massage in the underground DeSal Spa. Highly recommend this tour.

This is a great tour that goes beyond just the Salt Cathedral. We also had the chance to walk around the beautiful town of Zipaquira and learn historical facts. As an added bonus, David the guide is a local and made the experience very enjoyable. We definitely recommend this tour.

David is a great guide, very flexible and always attentive to the preferences of the people he carries. His explanations are clear and close because he knows firsthand the salt ovens and the town of Zipaquirá. The Salary Restaurant very rich and with live music.
