We had a wonderful day in the countryside. We learned to make rice paper, banana chips and fish paste and now we also know how to make rice wine. Our guide Phalla not only introduced us to Cambodia’s history and brought us to one of the last “killing fields”, but also brought us into conversation with people everywhere and anytime. No matter where we were. The little girl at the gas station, the young woman at the bananas - we get to know their history, learn how they live, we talk, we laugh, we immerse ourselves in Cambodian life in the countryside. A great day trip by bike where you learn a lot about the country and people.

We had a great day tour today with our guide Pich! Who has shown and told us something in English in many places. We drove through villages and rice fields, stopped in a Muslim village and Pich even showed us local dessert. For lunch we had a great chance to rest after 28 kilometers of eating! And back Pich fulfilled our wish to buy fruit at a few fruit stands. Really recommendable! But you have to be fit for the day tour - it is not to be underestimated ;-) but it is worth it! Thanks to Soksabike and especially to our mega great guide Pich!

Nice way to see city and land. Per, our guide, told us about the different places we visited: The family made rice pancakes, the family made rice wine, and the family made banana snacks. We cycled through a landscape of rice fields and learned about rice cultivation and life in the countryside. Finally we also tasted the local food. The trip was over 30 km., but affordable, also for children (9 and 11 years old).

Thank you so much for a great day. Everything is well organised and the bikes are of very good quality. But the most important thing is the opportunity to visit unusual places that give an insight into everyday life in country villages. We were also lucky enough to be guided by Pek, a man who was very available, generous with his explanations and very pleasant. Thank you Pek for a very rewarding day. Joel

Although I was the only participant, the tour was carried out, so I had my private tour with Savith, who could provide very competent information about everything and was a super tour guide. With the good mountain bikes we rode through the rural area of Battambang and I got insights into the daily life of the families (rice paper making, banana snack making and rice wine production). A Must Do in Battambang!!!

This was such an excellent cycling tour. Our guide Savith was so friendly, funny, caring and informative. The cycling was nice and gentle with plenty of stops along the way. We enjoyed the hands-on experience (& tasting!) of how to make rice paper, dried banana snacks, bamboo rice & rice wine. Learnt a bit of the Khmer language, the role Buddhism plays in daily life and enjoyed speaking with the local people. Lunch was excellent in a very relaxing family home. Thank you, Savith, for showing us around your country. It was an unforgettable day and the bats were amazing!

I had a full day local tour with PEK as my guide, and a tuk-tuk driver whose name escapes me, but who was also wonderful. PEK was incredibly well Informed about the life and customs of his people and very capable of explaining this to me in English. We visited several local food makers and had a lovely home cooked meal followed by a snooze in a hammock at a local family home. We also climbed the mountain and watched the bats snake their way over our heads. I highly recommend PEK as a local guide. It was a great day.

A fabulous experience and real treat! Sopheak Pich Sr and Jr made it a really great trip carefully taking into account our limits (we were not the most sportive bunch) and answered all our questions with a big smile. Sopheak Pich Jr we hope your classes are going well. :)
