Local pub & bar(including standing bar) crawling in my hometown Akabane, around 20 minutes from Shinjuku by train. In there, you can enjoy drinking very valuable price with deep local atmosphere.
This tour, I'll take you 3 different types of local pub and bar.
However, they have some rules on each pub, and mostly explain it to the customer only Japanese. Menu also only Japanese, so you feel upset what writing there is. Besides, they have their own specialities must you try, but if you miss it even if you could get there on your own? No way!
Don't worry anymore! I'll guide you how to order, what is ingredients into dishes, and what is their today's recommend. Let's go with me and enjoy fully their charm, and find out your best place!

Old "Oden(Japanese style stew)" shop with outside standing bar. The shop at small alley, but known by locals since long time ago. You can taste rich variety of Oden (vegi, fishball, tofu etc.).
Izakaya-pub with a long history is famous for river fish. You can feel good old time atmosphere locals gathering and have a drink there.

5.00Our tour with Junko-san was amazing. She took us to authentic Japanese izakaya in an area of Tokyo we had not been to before, and where the menus were only in Japanese. Her insight was outstanding. We tried foods we never could have tried by ourselves, and they were delicious!

5.00Highly recommended!!! It was a great tour full of fun and I recommedn 100%. I went with my husband and it was genuinely one of the best nights we had in Tokyo. I would recommend to couples visiting Tokyo.

5.00Junko really made the experience special. We had such a wonderful time & really felt that we were able to see a part of Tokyo we could have never experienced on our own. Highly recommend this tour! Be sure to have an empty stomach when you arrive - there is so much great food & drink, you'll want to try it all!

5.00Fabulous! If you get Junko, you're in luck! She's fun & knowledgeable - the fact that she had to search for the occasional English word made the whole experience so much more real! The whole food experience was a taste delight ... we'd never have found such awesome treats on our own. So ... we went to 3 different fun, tiny restaurants that were down some AMAZING lanes. One restaurant for each course & had alcohol to match. Loved, loved, loved the Sake tasting paddle at the first stop. That you, Junko ... you made it so special :)

5.00This local pub & bar tour was excellent. Nice area about 20 minutes north of Shinjuku, Tokyo. The area was not crowded and everyone was very friendly. And my guide/host, Junko Kato, was very good with English and would describe each dish before ordering. And the icing on top was we ran into a group of older guys drinking at 2 of the bars we visited. And made sure to start up conversation with me. They could tell I was an American. They were very friendly and funny. Told me my guide has good taste in restaurants/bars. Overall, an excellent experience with reasonable prices for drinks and food. It was a wonderful evening out experiencing unique and great company, food, and drinks. Thank you Junko for an excellent tour/guide of local bars and/or pubs.
