A full day tour to the Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfalls. We depart Luang Prabang boat pier in the morning. Floating along the Mekong River, you will be in love with the beautiful landscape in Luang Prabang. Stop by a village "Ban Xang Hai" for tasting unique local rice whisky and rice wine. Afterward, exploring the mystery cave with local tour guide.
Having buffet lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Mekong river. In the afternoon, we take a car to waterfalls and enjoy swimming in the cool water. At 5pm, we leave for the city. Stop by a Hmong village en route. We'll meet Hmong people wearing traditional cloths and see their small Hmong museum. Arrival at the city center or your hotel at 6:00.
There is an option visiting waterfalls in the morning and Caves and Sunset Boat Cruise in the afternoon. This is the same experience except the morning and afternoon itineraries are swapped.

This tour is not hard at all. But it's about 10 hours full day excursion including a long distance drive (60km). If old people and infants are in your group, please consider to choose 2 days split option or private option

Whisky Village
A unique little village on the banks of the Mekong River. Ban Xang Hai, is also known as whisky village, is famous for their handicraft products like distilling and selling whisky, hand woven fabric and jewelry.
Pak Ou Caves
These two caves are located some 25km from Luang Prabang where the Nam Ou River flows into the Meking. The journey on a slow moving longboat to caves is decidedly picturesque. Motoring upriver you can see locals fishing and listen to the joyful laugher of children splashing in the water. The caves are revered throughout Laos and a very popular place for tourists and pilgrimsalike. There are some 4000 statyes abd statyettes in the caves, mostly of the Buddha, many stukk covered with paper thin gilding. The first cave is reached by a steep staircase from the river’s edge, while the second cave is a little deeper inside the mountain: bring a torchilight!

5.00Thoroughly recommend this tour, very well organised and we saw so much in one day. The quick visit to the Hmong village was interesting. The waterfalls were beautiful, and passing by the bear sanctuary en route added to the enjoyment, seeing the bears wandering around. Lunch was excellent, including feeding the elephants (they were pretty happy with theirs too !) then the Buddha caves before a beer on the boat watching the sunset on the Mekong. Very glad I joined this tour, and Pong was a brilliant guide

5.00The elephants were the highlight of this tour and I can’t believe they are not mentioned in the description!! There were 2 and they were both so gentle and friendly. One even did some tricks. We got amazing once in a lifetime pictures with the elephants. That alone was worth the price but we got so much more including beautiful sights, a delicious lunch, and lots of beer! Our guide was funny and so nice. A great mix of solo and group travelers so everyone will feel comfortable. Most people didn’t go in the water because it’s cold, and also bring a jacket for the sunset cruise. This is definitely a must do tour!

4.00The day trip to caves and waterfall was great. It felt a little rushed at times due to how far the waterfalls is away from the caves but our tour guide Thin did great accomdating everyone having enough time at each spot

5.00Absolutely beyond expectations. 💛 Very well organized tour, lovely tour guide and actually enjoyable lunch. I feared the two shopping spots will be forced buying but not at all. The itinerary is a bit tight and the road to the caves is very tough but it absolutely worth it. Actually one of my tours in Laos when is did not feel scammed. Would join again any time.

5.00We had the most amazing time on this tour! Loved all the stops and had time to explore at each. Went with 2 yound children who had a wonderful time. Our guide, Mr pingpong was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly!
