A full day tour to the Pak Ou Caves and Kuang Si Waterfalls. We depart Luang Prabang boat pier in the morning. Floating along the Mekong River, you will be in love with the beautiful landscape in Luang Prabang. Stop by a village "Ban Xang Hai" for tasting unique local rice whisky and rice wine. Afterward, exploring the mystery cave with local tour guide.
Having buffet lunch at the restaurant overlooking the Mekong river. In the afternoon, we take a car to waterfalls and enjoy swimming in the cool water. At 5pm, we leave for the city. Stop by a Hmong village en route. We'll meet Hmong people wearing traditional cloths and see their small Hmong museum. Arrival at the city center or your hotel at 6:00.
There is an option visiting waterfalls in the morning and Caves and Sunset Boat Cruise in the afternoon. This is the same experience except the morning and afternoon itineraries are swapped.

This tour is not hard at all. But it's about 10 hours full day excursion including a long distance drive (60km). If old people and infants are in your group, please consider to choose 2 days split option or private option

Whisky Village
A unique little village on the banks of the Mekong River. Ban Xang Hai, is also known as whisky village, is famous for their handicraft products like distilling and selling whisky, hand woven fabric and jewelry.
Pak Ou Caves
These two caves are located some 25km from Luang Prabang where the Nam Ou River flows into the Meking. The journey on a slow moving longboat to caves is decidedly picturesque. Motoring upriver you can see locals fishing and listen to the joyful laugher of children splashing in the water. The caves are revered throughout Laos and a very popular place for tourists and pilgrimsalike. There are some 4000 statyes abd statyettes in the caves, mostly of the Buddha, many stukk covered with paper thin gilding. The first cave is reached by a steep staircase from the river’s edge, while the second cave is a little deeper inside the mountain: bring a torchilight!

5.00Outstanding one-day outing. Plenty of time at the waterfall (2 hours), a relaxing and delicious buffet lunch, a chance see up close (feed and touch if you wish) the elephants protected by local environmentalists, a lovely boat ride on the Mekong River with a one hour stop to explore a sacred cave in the side of a cliff, and drinks at sunset. Hotel pickup by van at about 8:30 am and return via boat at about 6:00 pm. Our guide, Mr. Pong, was one the highlights of the trip. Terrific in every way.

5.00We enjoyed the waterfalls even though it wasn't sunny. The lunch was excellent with the tasty buffalo BBQ. The cave visit was good exercise and an added bonus The sun appeared giving us sunset photos. All the while Pong interacted with the group ensuring all needs were met. I enjoyed his presentation style and information offered. Nice meeting you Pong...

5.00The tour had a variety of activities: beautiful waterfalls, visits to cave, villages & the scenic river cruise with the sunset was spectacular. But most of all, our tour guide Mr. Pong was both very knowledgeable & entertaining.

5.00The guide Mr Pingpong was friendly, as a tourist from China, I perceived that his behavior may represent the spirit of Lao nationals. His oral English was fluent, we could make sense of his words. We're lucky to visit Pak Ou Caves.

5.00We thought it was a very nice day. First we rode a little bit, we also went into the water, very fun...then there was a super great buffet. Drinks were all free. After dinner we were told something about the elephants and we could ask questions. Then we went for another round with "my" elephant in the woods, where we could see and were told what she eats so much. We had the impression that the elephants were doing very well here. We were actually also asked if we still wanted to go to the caves and to the whiskey tasting, we did it even though we had not booked it. Nothing had to be paid extra, it was interesting and you don't have to buy anything. Then it went back and even the sunset they managed well. Our guide, Mr. Pingpong, has tried very hard to give us a wonderful day. He explained many things to us very entertaining and easy to understand, was always approachable for questions and took very nice photos of us! We say thank you again!

5.00I was looking for a tour that would take me to a waterfall and a cave, but it was good to know Laos for other stops. The sunset cruise was cloudy until the last minute, but we could see the sunset. I didn't feel like I was in a rush, even though it was a full-on journey. My guide, Mr. Pong, was also fun and nice.
