We invite you into a journey to the “City of Seven Spires" or the "Gateway to the North"! Discover the charm of the hanseatic city of Lübeck with its unique architecture, especially
significant to its appointment as the first German UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Admire the skyline of Lübeck, decorated with the 5 main churches, the world-famous Holsten Gate and the brick Merchants' houses, all signifiers of the hundred-year- long history of this Baltic Sea city. Follow the footsteps of the famous writers Thomas and Heinrich Mann, wander the wonderful little streets, take pictures of the decorated houses and hear interesting stories about the history of the city. Overall, Lübeck is a great place to visit, check out some history and devour some marzipan because, we forgot to mention but, Lübeck is the birthplace of this sweet treat.
You will see:
• Holsten Gate
• Traditional Merchants' houses
• Salt storehouses
• St. Mary's Church

We will begin our adventurous walk at the famous Holsten Gate, the world-famous symbol of hanseatic self-assurance which was the motif on the German banknote of 50 Marks until a redesign following German reunification in 1990. We continue to the Salt storehouses, six historic brick buildings from the 16th–18th century, past the former industrial heart of the city, the Port of Lübeck. Our next point of interest is the famous traditional hanseatic Town Hall. It was built in the 13th century in the market square of the old town, and it's dark brick construction makes for a stark contrast with the surrounding red-brick building. Next we visit St. Mary's Church, a fine brick gothic building, the third largest church in Germany. This Lutheran church full of art and atmosphere, with a very beautiful Chapel of Memory was constructed between 1250 and 1350. Outside St Mary Church, you can take a picture with the little devil, while our guide will tell you his funny story. We will end our tour with a stroll through the famous streets and the decorated houses at Buddenbrook House, dedicated to the two writers Heinrich and Thomas Mann, and the “Buddenbrooks”.

Unfortunately, the guide had already gotten a little old, had difficulty standing safely and/or speaking loud enough. She did not conduct the tour with full vigour. She took back the descriptions very much and made them with little joy and was, we think, glad when the tour ended. With more than 250,-- Euro much too expensive!

Karin was an excellent guide. As she was local and had grown up in Lübeck she knew virtually everything about the town and more! We had a great time on the tour.

Lübeck is a beautiful city. Which is very interesting a ship tour. And a stroll through the old town is also worthwhile. The Buddenbrooks House,The Town Hall,The Marzipan Museum. Worth it, too.

Christel is wonderful! We absolutely loved the tour, learning and seeing many things that we doubt we would've been gotten from anyone but a local such as herself. And you must give yourself at least two days to explore the island if you can; a two-hour tour only just begins your exploration of all the history and charm that Lübeck has to offer. And of course, make sure to have Christel as your guide when you begin your visit! <3

We fully enjoyed her tour and we highly recommend her. Lubeck is a beautiful historic town with many attractive small shops. The museums and clock towers are worth all the travel.
