  Nixon expeditions, was fantastic to deal with. Very professional and reliable. Was always contactable to answer any questions. The tour of Machu Picchu was brilliant, I highly recommend. The guide Victor explained all the history with passion. He also took great photos for me! My tour was in the afternoon, there weren't as many people which was good to have more photo opportunities! I would also recommend asking about airport transfers to save excessive charges by taxi's getting to and from the airport.

  Abel - our tour guide was so very knowledgable and super friendly. A great photo and videographer too. He brings supporting materials like: native stones, musical instruments, even salt for us to try and for the Llama. We booked less than a month so we could not have the circuit no 2, instead we did the circuit no 1. It was great. We were able to see panoramic view of Macchu Picchu. Beside Abel, our ground handler also very attentive and provided with details needed as it was our first visit to south america. Well done Abel!   This tour was one of the best experiences of our lives. Nixon was so professional organising transport, tickets, guides, and from start to finish, we couldn't have wished for better. And the sights! Oh, my goodness. It was like a spiritual experience on the train ride, beside the river, surrounded by mountains, clouds and vegetation. Meeting us from the train, our guide, Ruddy, was so knowledgeable and patient with us. It was a real educarion and pleasure spending a couple of hours with him. I would 100% recommend Nixon's company to make your Peru/ Machu Picchu experience become a reality.

  Nixon at Nixon expeditions was without doubt the best tour guide I've ever used the services of. He was so informative, talking us through every step of the trip, and believe me there were a lot of moving parts here. He also went beyond what you'd expect of a tour operator. In that he'd either message or call us to make sure we'd got on or caught each mode of transport and when we experienced some difficulties due to no fault of his making, he was there again working on and implementing a solution.   This tour was a new experience and a dream for us. We were delighted with our guide Paul as he explained each question very clearly and very intelligently.   I cannot recommend this tour operator enough. My trip to Machu Picchu had several unexpected hurdles, and the team went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. Problem Solving & Flexibility I originally booked a one-day tour, but realized I didn't have the correct circuit entrance tickets. Instead of leaving me to figure it out, the agency quickly pivoted. They rearranged my itinerary into a two-day tour, organized a last-minute overnight stay in Aguas Calientes, and helped me secure the necessary entrance tickets and a great dinner. Expert Guiding The guide was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable and shared deep historical details that made the site come alive. They weren't just showing me around; they were genuinely helpful with every small request. Going Above and Beyond On the second day, a major train accident occurred, leaving us stuck at the station for 12 hours. This is where the agency truly shined. They stayed in constant contact with me, followed up regularly, and worked tirelessly to provide alternative options and updates. Verdict Traveling in Peru can be unpredictable, and you want a team that has your back. Their communication, professionalism, and care were top-notch. I highly recommend using them for your Machu Picchu visit!

  This was a very well organised tour using Zoom and Whats App to share documents and instructions before we travellwd to Peru. Full information was provided in advance but I hadn't realised that you need to book the park Tickets two months in advance. Nixon was able to complete the forms to allow an emergency entry pass to the park and that we were able to pay additional fees, such as for Paul the private tour guide and for the early train to return to Cuzco. We travelled from Cuzco at 3.30 am where it was 7°C so we were wrapped up and by lunchtime at Machu Picchu it was 21°C, so were were overdressed. On our return to Cuzco at 6.20 pm the temperature had dropped to 16°C, so the down jackets were worn again. Be prepared for the weather and wear suitable footwear. We had planned to walk down to the village but after completing circuit 2 in the heat we were too tired and had to purchase the additional shuttle bus tickets down to the village and station. We were very impressed with the tour company as they arranged us in groups at the start so that we can board the correct minibuse in an orderly fashion. Once at the railway station our group was ushered to the waiting room by railway staff dressed as Inca. They held signs with the carriage number to help us board the correct carriage of the train. We were met by Paul our guide who used Whats App to contact us and to guide us to the shuttle bus taking us to the start of our walk. We thoroughly enjoyed Maccu Picchu and would recommend Nixon to our friends and family. A shout out to Paul our guide who was very patient with us. Points to note - Buy an eSim such as HolaFly so that you have unlimited data. Latin pass works very well in Brazil, Argentina and Peru. Open a WhatsApp account so that you can be contacted by Nixon and your guide Keep you passport handy as the tour staff in Cuzco, train staff, shuttle bus staff and Park staff will request to see it. Keep your travel tickets handy. I took screenprints. Take plenty of water and some snacks, there are restuarants in the village and a snack bar on the station. You may also purchase snacks and drinks on the train. Take a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent and use them. A waterproof jacket in case it rains. Take and keep a half a roll of toilet paper in your rucsack as the toilets do run out. Due to the Peruvian sewage system, place your used toilet paper in the bin provided. Take change to use the toilets (banos) 2 sole per visit (50p approx) Keep an eye on the time so that you factor in shuttle bus times, train boarding times. Check your train boarding time and train number. Take screen prints of your Park pass, bus and train ticket and the shuttle bus ticket. They will use the QR code when checking them. Sign up to the Apps used by your airline so that you can access your travel details remotely especially if your flights have changed. Mine certainly did. Finally bring a charged battery pack, you certainly will need to use it. Enjoy the sights, they are fantastic and learn more about the Inca culture and history. I hope you find these tips helpful.
