Pico do Arieiro
At 1,818 metres above sea level, Pico do Areeiro is the third highest point on the island of Madeira. From this elevated location, the view is so vast that it allows observers to gaze out over the unique grandeur of the Madeira Mountain Range, with the Atlantic Ocean in the background.
With a total length of 4,09 km, it provides visitors with an immersive experience in the mountainous landscape of the south coast of the island of Madeira

5.00On this day, 9/04/2026, we find the 4 seasons of the year on the island of Madeira on the same day. It was a brutal day, an experience to be repeated again with Miguel! I highly recommend to those who are in uncertainty, will love Miguel and the wonderful places that our island "hides"!

5.00Miguel messaged me within minutes of booking and kept us informed all the way upto the trip. He had lots of ideas and as we were a private trip was happy to suggest and tweak the tour for us nothing was too much trouble. Also did a couple of things I’d never seen on previous eastern maderia tours. When he recommended lunch go with it you won’t be disappointed it was fabulous. Great day was had by all many thanks once again to Miguel

5.00This was our 2nd tour in 2 days with Miguel. Weather was on our side once again and we had a fabulous day out exploring the east side of Madeira. From seeing the Cristo Rei statue first thing (to avoid the busy times) to the final view point of Ponta Sao Lourenco, Miguel explained all the key points on the east side of Madeira to us through out the tour. Miguel even added in a rum tasting tour for us at Porto da Cruz (not normally part of this tour) which was greatly appreciated. Being a local, born and raised in Madeira, we could not have got a better guide to show us round Madeira than Miguel. Communication was excellent through out, from collecting us on time to reserving our lunch stops! Nothing was no hassle for Miguel. We will definitely recommend Miguel to our friends who will be visiting Madeira in the summer.

5.00Miguel is an excellent and very thoughtful driver and guide. He appeared promptly and everything was superbly professional. As with everything in Madeira, the weather must be determining and when my initial plan to see sunrise at a Pico proved impossible, Miguel produced a bespoke alternative that was just as good as the first plan! I recommend him to anyone who needs a knowledgeable and convivial driver on the Island.

5.00We had a great day with Miguel. He knows everything (or almost everything!) on the island, always an anecdote or a story to tell and he knows the good spots, the good addresses. The day went at our own pace, we were able to make many stops, which is very pleasant. During our tour there were a lot of clouds on Pico do Arieiro but Miguel knew something else to fill us. He is young and sparkling, we recommend with your eyes closed!

5.00We had the most fabulous day with Miguel seeing 1 or 2 popular sites we had seen before, more importantly Miguel was aware we wanted to see sites that not many tourists visit and he did not disappoint... the whole experience was superb allowing as much time as we wished at each stop... Nothing rushed which was perfect... Miguel is a careful and safe driver with a great sense of hunour... Highly recommend.. Thanks again for a wonderful day..
