Pico do Arieiro
At 1,818 metres above sea level, Pico do Areeiro is the third highest point on the island of Madeira. From this elevated location, the view is so vast that it allows observers to gaze out over the unique grandeur of the Madeira Mountain Range, with the Atlantic Ocean in the background.
With a total length of 4,09 km, it provides visitors with an immersive experience in the mountainous landscape of the south coast of the island of Madeira

5.00A full day excursion which was thoughtfully organised by Miguel. Highlights included: Cristo Rei garajau viewpoint Pico do Arieiro -Levada dos Balcões walk (with the birds watching at the end, around 1.5km walk, very easy) , after the walk, we had an excellent lunch at a local restaurant. Santana traditional houses Guindaste viewpoint Ponta de São Lourenço (for the end) Would highly recommend Miguel as a guide, he has excellent knowledge of the island having lived there all his life. He has a great sense of humour and his English is excellent.

5.00Full day tour with Miguel which took in Cristo Rei garajau viewpoint (mind the steps!); Pico do Arieiro (unbelievable views); Levada dos Balcões walk; Santana traditional houses; Guindaste viewpoint; and Ponta de São Lourenço. Miguel is a great guide, has great knowledge of Madeira’s history, plenty of quirky facts. Would 100% recommend a day with him.

5.00On this day, 9/04/2026, we find the 4 seasons of the year on the island of Madeira on the same day. It was a brutal day, an experience to be repeated again with Miguel! I highly recommend to those who are in uncertainty, will love Miguel and the wonderful places that our island "hides"!

5.00Miguel messaged me within minutes of booking and kept us informed all the way upto the trip. He had lots of ideas and as we were a private trip was happy to suggest and tweak the tour for us nothing was too much trouble. Also did a couple of things I’d never seen on previous eastern maderia tours. When he recommended lunch go with it you won’t be disappointed it was fabulous. Great day was had by all many thanks once again to Miguel
