This Private Buggy Tour is On and Off-road starting in Funchal, stopping at Pico Alto viewpoint, Poiso, Pico do Suna, Lamaceiros lagoon and Portela viewpoint, where you can admire the beauty of the districts of Porto da Cruz and Faial, near the imposing rock of Penha d’Águia. The tour continues along the forest road of the Serra das Funduras, where we can observe the magnificent Laurissilva Forest. Along the trail through this forest you can admire the extraordinary beauty of the endemic flora and fauna of the island, the verdigris of the trees, the melodious singing of the birds and the whole environment is magical! Santo da Serra will be the end of this unique experience…time to return to Funchal.

5.00Great day with a lot of fun - especially with the mud puddles :-) Roberto is very sympathetic , attentive and has told us a lot of interesting facts about the island. In addition, he gave us extra tips on restaurants as well as viewpoints. We would book the tour again.

5.00Today my wife and I were able to enjoy the experience of the Buggy Tour with our guide Roberto. He even came to collect us at the hotel. From there we went up into the mountains. A dreamlike landscape with many beautiful views. In a forest clearing we got the additional instruction (short already at the hotel) to drive ourselves. Of course, it was time to get to know the vehicle before heading into the first off-road section. Roberto explained a lot to us already on the way and also at various short stops. We loved how he explained it and how many insider tips he gave us on the way. Just a great guy, super open and super nice. We don’t want to give too much away, book a tour and be surprised, we can only recommend it to everyone! Thanks Roberto for everything ☺️

5.00It's rare to find a company and tour guide that ticks all the boxes, but Roberto, a native Madeiran, sure did just that. Communication 5*. Personality and information 5*. Timing and route 5*. We've done jeep tours in the past and enjoyed them along a similar route, but this hands-on experience beats it. The new buggy is safe, comfortable and user-friendly. You can have Roberto drive, or if you prefer, you have the chance to drive off-road yourself while Roberto sits in the back and takes photos and videos for you. Either way you have a unique experience and get to see parts of Madeira not often seen by visitors. A fun way to spend a morning or afternoon and well worth the $$. NOTES: (1) The vehicle is LOUD - Roberto offers ear plugs for those wishing to use them. (2) There are no restrooms along the way, but private stops for a "wild wee" are possible. (3) Temperatures vary a lot from in town to the mountain outback so do be prepared with a jacket. (4). Wear something you don't mind getting dirty - if the track is wet and muddy, you may be too - but then that's half the fun!

5.00FANTASTIC TOUR😁 From meeting Roberto at arranged meeting point in Funchal we felt very welcomed from the first second, every thing about the tour was explained clearly and we were soon on our way out of the town heading to the mountains. It is very clear that Roberto has an absolute passion for Madeira and shows this by passing his vast knowledge to us during the tour. Into the forests we went - amazing - it’s like entering a tropical paradise and now Roberto gave us clear instructions about the vehicle and it’s controls then it’s my chance to get behind the wheel of the buggy, well as Roberto told us “ you can get four seasons in a day” how true this is so when you book this experience take more than shorts and T-shirt 👍 well it rained quite heavy at some points, but I will say this adds to the experience and adds to the thrill of driving off road through the forests and mountains. The buggy is excellent, very safe and very comfortable, as described “ it’s a pussy cat on the town roads but a lion off road” We saw so much (even when the clouds descend on to you) at the various stop offs at fantastic view points. Roberto armed with his Go Pro takes photos and videos throughout the tour so we are looking forward to seeing these. Unless you are an exceptional hiker this is the only way to see these sights of Madeira, I would highly recommend this tour. Oh! be prepared you might get splashed😁😁

5.00This was a highlight of our holiday. I was a bit unsure about the driving until I tried it! So much fun and Roberto was a fantastic guide with excellent English. All the safety aspects were covered plus explaining about the local area and ecology. We were very lucky with the weather - it had been raining before which only adds to the experience! Perfect way to spend time if it rains but equally fun whatever the weather. Fabulous and would highly recommend.

5.00We had the absolute best day with Roberto on our off-road buggy adventure! He was so friendly, funny, and full of fascinating facts about Madeira. The route was incredible — we drove through sunshine, clouds, and two dramatically different forests, feeling like we’d travelled between worlds in one day, letting us see so much more of the island. Roberto kept us laughing and learning with great stories and snippets of local history along the way. We stopped at beautiful viewpoints for photos, enjoyed every twist and turn, and sampled some proper Poncha and fresh mountain water — Roberto said it would make us 10 years younger, but we’re definitely hoping for 20! An unforgettable day out and one we’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Madeira.

5.00Roberto was simply fenomenal guiding us throughout the adventure, he was fun, patient and very clear with instructions making us feel comfortable and safe all the time. Also telling us all about the places we visited and recommendations of what to do in Madeira were very helpful. Thank you so much Roberto and of we come back to Madeira we'll definitely repeat the experience! ☺️
