This tour takes you from Warsaw to Majdanek Concentration Camp Museum, located on the outskirts of Lublin. Established by Nazi Germany in 1941, Majdanek served as both a concentration and extermination camp. Due to the rapid advance of the Soviet army in 1944, the camp was captured almost intact, making it the best-preserved Holocaust camp in Europe.
Traveling with a knowledgeable, English-speaking guide helps you understand not only historical facts, but also the wider context of German Nazi occupation and the Holocaust in occupied Poland. Majdanek is visited far less frequently than Auschwitz, allowing for a calm, unhurried, and respectful experience.
The visit focuses on authentic locations, including original barracks, gas chambers, crematoria, execution sites, barbed wire fencing, and guard towers. Exhibitions inside preserved buildings present historical documents, photographs, and personal testimonies, with time to walk, reflect, and absorb the site at your own pace.

Majdanek State Museum
Upon arrival, you enter the preserved grounds of Majdanek Concentration and Extermination Camp, where the scale and authenticity of the site immediately set the tone for the visit. The guided walk lasts approximately 2 to 3 hours and is conducted at a calm, respectful pace. During the visit, you explore the camp’s key areas, including the selection square and shower barracks, the original gas chambers, and prisoner barracks that now house museum exhibitions with documents, photographs, and personal testimonies. You also visit the crematoria, execution pits, and the mausoleum containing the ashes of victims. Throughout the walk, your guide explains how Majdanek functioned, who was imprisoned there, and how the camp fit into the wider system of German Nazi terror and genocide. You’ll have time to read exhibition materials, observe preserved structures, and reflect on the history in a dignified setting.

This was one of the most powerful, emotional, moving experiences I have ever had in my entire life. To see what happened in the camps and physically being there cannot put into words the emotional impact it will have on you. Our guide Martin was the most wonderful guide, he knew exactly what to say with the utmost respect, was so knowledgeable about the history, and truly made this an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend doing this tour no matter who you are or your nationality, as this was an eye opening experience.

Martin was an incredible tour guide. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable about the topics and history. He knew when to move on, when to let us take our time, and was extremely knowledgeable. Everything he did made us feel so comfortable. For being such a hard place to see, it was an amazing experience to see it with such a great tour guide who really respected the history and tragedy.

We had a very educational experience at the concentration camp with our guide Marcin. It was approximately a 2 hour drive from Warsaw to Lublin. Our guide spoke to us about the educational system, medical and political systems in Poland and surrounding countries. Marcin was amazing, a must tour!!!

Marcin was an amazing tour guide that not only filled us in on the concentration camp but on our drive answered questions about Poland’s education system, medical, government and neighbouring countries. We went to Lublin after and walked the beautiful old town and saw parts of the Jewish ghetto. I would highly recommend this tour.

We were blown away at how well preserved the camp was. We have visited other camps where most of the structure was torn down. Marcin, our guide, did a wonderful job taking us through the camp and pointing out interesting facts not on the placards. After visiting the camp, Marvin took us on a walking tour of Lublin. He pointed out some fascinating nooks and crannys we would never have found on our own. The monestary and church were amazing. Marcin also was a great travel companion, answering all of our questions about Poland with much insight and intelligence. A very smart person.
