Byzantine Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary
Visit the oldest monument of the area situated in the old city of Kalabaka. In the walls of this church for hundreds of years, marbles of an ancient temple were hidden. The marbles belonged to the temple of God Apollo. Nowadays that the plaster which covered them is removed you will be able to see God’s face represented as the Sun.

5.00Amazing! I did the morning tour the same day and was really happy that this tour was going to a different monastery, so I was able to visit 4 in total. Also, the hermitage caves and the church were super interesting. Not to mention the outerworldly sunset experience. Special thanks to our guide Yannis, who provided so much information about culture, religion, geology, etc. all with a great sense of humor. Highly recommended, even when you did the morning tour.

5.00Wonderful experience also due to our guide Nicholas, who shared with us plenty of information about geographical, geological, historical and religious data of this unique place. The tour was very well organized, our driver was skilled and careful and made us feel safe. We were very happy for taking the decision to join a guided tour, there were a lot of things that we could have not been able to learn so easily or maybe even at all by ourselves

5.00This tour is the perfect choice if you've been doing a lot of travelling and driving like we had and still want to go sight-seeing but with less walking involved. It was great to be driven to all the sights and have someone explain the history behind it all. Vasiliki was incredibly knowledgeable and over-all a great tour guide, as was our awesome driver Nikos. It was a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this tour! Looking forward to visiting again and doing the morning tour.

5.00Due to farmer's break, It was a long time to get Meteora from Athens. Our guide, Rula, gave us time for photos and good advises. Our driver, Nikos, made a stop in order to get some meals. Both of them, very kind. Meteora, just wow.

5.00Unbelievable tour!!! The sights were otherworldly and the guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We were able to visit the inside one of the monasteries and the Byzantine church. The driver made lots of roadside stops to allow us to take photos which I really appreciated.

5.00Clement was a great guide through our first day visiting the monasteries. His excitement in sharing his knowledge made for an awesome day. Booked hotel room through the company and it was simple &lovely with excellent breakfast. Second day we did the hiking tour which was nice because didn’t want to spend any more time in a bus for a bit. You don’t get to visit as many monasteries but you do get to see them from a different vantage point. Thank you for awesome trip!
