Mangrove Cay is a haven for marine and bird wildlife. In the channels and shallows surrounding the cay, it’s common to sight juvenile lemon sharks and nurse sharks, small turtles, conch, southern brown stingrays, starfish, and many types of juvenile fish. The sheltering and complex root systems of the larger mangrove trees often hide schools of tiny fish. Birdwatching is also great, and sightings include brown pelicans, green herons, tricolored herons, reddish egrets, and American oystercatchers.

5.00Our tour guide, Archie, was terrific and spotted so many turtles along the way. He kept our teenage son engaged the whole time. Have been coming to TCI for years to snorkel but the mangroves are an area of TCI we had not explored before and so glad we did. Go on the earliest trip possible as it seemed to get crowded with kayaks as we were finishing up. Saw several turtles, jellies, conch, and one baby lemon shark.
Highlight of our trip. It’s a must do!

5.00This was a highlight of our trip. We had so much fun looking for and spotting sea turtles. Our guides were friendly and sociable. They made sure we got to see everything. We saw tons of sea turtles, jellies, a crab and even baby lemon shark. We were worried that it wouldn’t be a good experience because it was windy that day, but it was awesome. The guides knew exactly what to do. They took us out to the mangroves on a dingy and then we kayaked in the calm mangrove waters away from the wind.

5.00We had a great time kayaking through the mangroves! The tour was well organized. They pull you out on a ‘train’ of kayaks linked together to the mangroves and the guide leads you through the mangroves once you start kayaking. We saw turtles, sharks and jellyfish (which you could hold). It is a bit of a production with many tour groups going through but still a very unique and fun experience.

5.00Amazing experience with our guide, Hachi! He showed us so many beautiful turtles! We also saw a lemon shark & jellyfish. The water is so blue, and the mangrove was so cool to kayak through. Thank you for this experience!

5.00Saw tons of stuff - no idea how many turtles, multiple baby sharks, and jelly fish. Had a great time and our tour I believe was a few $s less than some more reviewed tours. We got out to the mangrove the fastest by far. Was a little worried a day or two leading up as I didn't have a time as it depends on the tide nor did I have a location. I placed a call and they were very respectful and quick with getting back to me the info I needed.
This was a fun activity....

5.00This was a fun activity. Our guide (Andy) was nice and informative. We saw lots of turtles and 1 shark. Be prepared to paddle, and you will get wet!
