I had such a fantastic afternoon at this cooking class. We made great food, using basic ingredients that I can find back home to recreate the dishes. I highly recommend this experience to anyone, especially foodies who want to eat and learn about Filipino food.

I always try and book in a cooking class if I travel, and I'm so glad I got to spend a couple of hours with the tour guide Chyl. I arrived a little late due to misjudging my Grab pickup. When I got there, just inside the foyer of the dropoff point, I was given a welcome fresh juice to drink, which was tasty. The cooking area was outside, but undercover. With various ingredients the plan was to create three dishes. (Veggie spring roll, banana spring roll, w/3 variations, and a noodle stir fry) I did the cutting and worked with Chyl's instruction to prepare everything and cook them over a small induction hotplate. The dishes were all quite simple and will be easy to prepare at home later. Even if you're not really a home cook, you'll be capable. While cooking I asked questions about life in the Philippines, and learnt plenty from Chyl about the culture of family, food, and community. That's really what's especially great about these tours, and Chyl gave me tonnes of info to help me understand foodie life as a Filipino and the origins of flavours and ingredients. I was the only participant today, but there were four tables in total that could be used for more people on the tour. Chyl was an excellent host and the food was delicious. I had a great time and appreciated the chance for a Makati cooking tour that was at a reasonable time (2pm), wasn't overly long (~2hrs), and easily slotted into my one free day while here for work. At one point the rain arrived, but Chyl and her team quickly pulled curtains across the sides so I stayed dry and comfortable. At the end I left with a recipe handout so I could recreate the dishes at home, and was offered a takeaway box if I couldn't finish all the food. But I did 😁

My family and I participated in Chyl's cooking class in Makati together, and we had the best time. We loved the intimacy of the class - it was just four of us. We each had individual cooking stations, which was so fun. Chyl was so kind, patient, and helpful when teaching us. We made lumpia, pancit, and turon. Everything was simple but delicious. Also, the location was great and central to our hotel!

We had an incredible experience with this Filipino cooking class that truly helped us connect to our Filipino roots as Filipino-Americans. Chyl, our instructor, was warm, knowledgeable, and made the class engaging and easy to follow. We loved learning authentic recipes that brought the rich flavors and traditions of the Philippines to life. Beyond the cooking, the class shared meaningful cultural stories that deepened our appreciation of our heritage. It was a fun, heartfelt experience that we both treasured, and we highly recommend it to anyone wanting to celebrate and reconnect with Filipino culture through food!

Went with my husband and we both had a fun time! Recipes were very easy to follow and quick to remember. The class is very beginner friendly. Ms. Chyl was informative and helpful. She included some history about the food we prepared. Ms. Chyl was hands on and was very patient with us since. Everything we prepared was delicious in the end which makes it a successful class. 🙂 Thank you, Ms. Chyl ☺️

5 out of 5 rating because Chyl was kind, informative and professional. She will text you with the location at Olympia building across from Peninsula Hotel on the day of the class and all the ingredients will be on the table. We made 3 dishes and it was delicious!

I actually do not cook, but it ended up being one of my most favorite experiences here in Manila. Thank you Chyl for your patience, guidance and delicious recipes. :)

Cute little locale - very tasty food. Vegetarian which was nice, not many vego options in the Philippines... Chyl was a delight, a gracious host.

My wife and I loved this class we learned a lot about the culture and some new tips for cooking some dishes we have tried in the past that lacked the wow factor. The class was put together well started off with a welcome drink, get into cooking the spring roll first then a little break to cook some more and eat a big meal! She also provided ice cream and water! All in all we loved the class! The only thing to be aware of the class is outside and my wife didn’t love so many people watching her while she cooked. But other than that no complaints!

Learning to make classic Filipino snacks with Chyl was such a great way to spend an afternoon. She has a lovely set up in an open air shaded courtyard where we prepped and then cooked three items that were easy and delicious, learning about local ingredients and how to use them as well as the variations that different people might employ based on region. This seems like a good class for any age and level of cook. And Chyl’s and her support staff were so kind and helpful. I can’t wait to make these recipes again when I get back home!
