Divisoria Market
During the Spanish colonial period, Divisoria emerged as a bustling trading hub for Chinese immigrants in Manila, particularly in the late 19th century. Situated near the historically significant districts of Intramuros and Binondo, it became a vital marketplace where Chinese merchants sold a wide array of goods, from textiles and spices to ceramics and other imported items. The Chinese, many of whom were descendants of traders from Fujian province, played a crucial role in Manila's commerce, often acting as intermediaries between Spanish colonists and the local Filipino population. Divisoria's narrow streets and chaotic yet vibrant atmosphere mirrored its significance as a melting pot of cultures and a cornerstone of Manila's economic activity.
Binondo
Start the tour at **Binondo**, the world's oldest Chinatown, founded in 1594. Visit the historic **Binondo Church**, a symbol of the Chinese-Filipino Catholic community, with its blend of Spanish and Chinese architecture. Then, walk through **Ongpin Street**, the heart of Chinatown, famous for its traditional apothecaries, jewelry shops, and authentic Chinese restaurants. Here, you can savor delicacies like dim sum and hopia while soaking in the vibrant culture. Next, cross the elegant **Jones Bridge**, known for its neoclassical design and breathtaking views of Manila's skyline and the Pasig River. It's a perfect spot for photos and capturing the beauty of the city at sunset. End the tour at the **Pasig River Esplanade**, a scenic riverside walk with peaceful views. This revitalized area provides a tranquil escape and a reflective end to the journey through Manila’s historical and cultural tapestry.

I had a great tour with Venus. She knows a lot about Manila, and the people living here, and she can tell you a lot about all topocs. We had a delicious street food dinner and afterwards we went to the night market , wet market and Chinatown. And took a tuktuk and a Jeepney. If you want a complete and entertaining experience in 2 hours, book this tour. I recommend it.
