Maracas Beach

The drive to Maracas is spectacular, looking at scenic mountain views until descending down to Maracas Bay. On the route, you will stop at the lookout to see breathtaking views of the beach and the Caribbean Sea. • Once at the beach you can take a swim or just simply suntan and have a great time under the palm trees. • The most popular activity on the beach is tasting the world-famous "bake and shark." It is a local delicacy and is mouthwatering. • Once on the beach, if you want to explore more of the North Coast, your guide would be very happy to accommodate your every need.

Lovely beach. Very choppy waves. We asked a taxi driver ahead of time to take us there and back for a fee and found that it was cheaper than booking a tour. We had a lovely time! Lots of food options on the beach as well,

The beach was nice. I really liked the concession area where you can get their signature Shark Bake sandwich. I'd say the beach was quiet enough to lounge around or if you come with a crowd you can make it a more lively experience. Either way there was plenty of beach for everyone.

Maracas Beach is always a must do thing whenever I visit Trinidad. It’s a beautiful beach, with coconut trees, white sand and clear water. And of course, there are Shark n Bake sandwiches, which are always a treat, washed down with a cold Carib beer! Go spend the day. Swim, sunbathe, people watch and eat. You will love it!

The tour guide Dominique..............he was diverse in two languages and had an expert knowledge of the terrain and geography.

The beach was ok. Nothing to boast about. And certainly not comparable to beaches in California or Florida.

One of the top beaches in Trinidad and Tobago. The beach has been developed to have bathroom/shower facilities that you pay TT$5. Beautiful tropical Bay but with waves that can be rough at times. Has lifeguards on duties. On the beach have bars and great restaurant shacks. Most popular is bake and shark which was TT$50. Rented a tent and five chairs for TT$300.

Dominic was great and informative along the way to the beach. We were able to stop at a lookout market and get alcoholic slushes. I did not have to worry about burning at the beach since they rent chairs and umbrellas. Lunch and beverages were nearby at the local bake and shark restaurant. I got the shark n fries and dressed it with everything and possibly too much local pepper sauce. The drinks were fun and I tried the local puncheon rum which is potent. The locals were really friendly and chatty. Next time I’m going to get some water from the mountainside fountain of youth. I did not spend as much time in Trinidad, but I would book with Dominic again to learn more about the T&T’s natural resources and nightlife.

Great half day trip to the beach with very informative Dominic. Taking time to share information on the journey and at Maracas. Enjoyed a recommended Bake & Shark, followed by a swim in the sea. Great fun.

The most memorable part of this tour was meeting the amazing tour guide and driver, Wendell. Talking about first class service, this is the guy you want with you during any tour. Maracas beach was cool; nice beach, people, drinks, and food!
