After breakfast there is time to visit the rest of the Kasbah before taking the ancient caravan road between the river and the mountains. On the way, we pass many villages and gardens so that you can gain a better idea of the way of life along the oases. We drive to M’hamid, the gate to the desert, to Erg Lihoudi, where we stop for lunch. Here a two-hour camel ride is scheduled. Later we continue to the Erg Chagaga dunes (300m) with 60km of off-road driving. This route passes different features of the desert; ‘erg’, ‘reg’, ‘hammada’, oases. These dunes are far away from civilization, in the desert proper … and the silence and the expanse of the sand are immense. Dinner and a night’s sleep are in a bivouac of nomad tents.

After breakfast, the road takes us through another 90km of desert with varying scenery: Lake Iriqui, the mountains and fossils. Lunch will be in Foum Zguid, the first village after the desert, where it is also possible to freshen up with a shower. From here the drive back to Marrakesh is along paved roads via the village of Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets and rugs. From there we cross the High Atlas again to reach Marrakesh in the end of the afternoon.

5.00We took a 4 day guided tour with Abidine and it was a fabulous experience. Right from the start, Abdoul/ yousef were flexible when it came to customising our itinerary and including all the details we wanted. We had Hamid as our guide and driver. We spent 4 days with him on the road and it was a fabulous experience, seeing Morocco with all the local insights. Everyone was so thoughtful and attentive, including the staff / owners at the various accommodations we stayed at. Can’t recommend this enough. This tour was a big part of our trip being memorable. Thank you 🙏 Abidine for everything.

5.00We just got back from a trip of a lifetime to Morocco! We traveled in a large group of friends with kids under 10 years old and Private Desert Tours made the experience so seamless and magical! We spent 3 days immersed in the beauty of the Merzouga desert doing some fun off-roading activities, visiting some authentic places, and soaking in the sheer beauty of the desert sunsets and sunrises. The desert in camp was luxurious and the staff were very hospitable and adept to their environment. Our guides/drivers were thorough professionals, I now consider them my dear friends and getting to know them better and having them explain to us (and our kids) in great detail about every different landscape, culture, nomadic lifestyle, etc was one of the best parts of our trip. The cars we had for the trip were in great condition and very comfortable for our family of 4 as well - which was very important to me given the amount of time we spent on the road! I would recommend Private Desert Tours to anyone that wants to visit Morocco and experience the Sahara!! Thank you, and we will certainly be back!

5.00This was the highlight of our Morocco spring break trip. We went there as a group of adults and children - everyone was in paradise: our amazing “guides”, the “original Saharans” born and raised in the desert and sharing their stories with us, driving us everywhere, entertaining us with local music gems, wining and dining us in the middle of the desert made this experience unforgettable.

5.00We booked a group trip with Private Desert Tours, and had the most amazing experience in the beautiful Merzouga dunes. Everything was planned flawlessly by the tour company, and our lead tour guide, Ismael, made this trip such a memorable experience. The tented camp where we stayed (Camp Sekoura Desert Dream) exceeded our expectations in so many ways. It was clean, comfortable and simply magical. Throughout this trip, we felt safe, well taken care of, and pampered, I highly recommend Private Desert Tours to anyone seeking a unique/magical desert experience.

5.00Everything so great with this tour! Omar was the driver, always so kind and aware of every detail for us to have a wonderful and safe trip from city to city. The tour guides at each city really great and with so much details to tell us. And also Ismail so kind. Abidene thank you for answering all the questions (I did had a lot hehe) and arranging an awesome tour at Morocco. Totally recommended!!! Even the parents of my husband already did the same tour last month and it was so great for them to. Thanks a lot!!!

5.00I had a wonderful trip to Erg Chebbi desert with very nice stops along the day. Accommodation and food was very good and the highlight was my guide/driver Ismail who too very good care of the entire itinerary.

5.00This was an amazing experience. I wished I could have spent more days. From the moment my friends and I arrived we were welcomed by Omar. He showed us along the 4 days and places we visited the culture, food and in general the history of Morocco. Highly recommend. .
