Excursion to Essaouira, the former Mogador built on a rocky peninsula, with its ramparts in a vigil on the ocean, its medina in white and blue tones, its busy port, and its long sandy beaches.

The history of Essaouira dates back to the 8th century BC. The Phoenicians stopped there on the road of the equator. The real founder of the city was the Alaouite Sultan Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, who entrusted the construction to Theodore Cornut, architect and student of Vauban Essaouira is now a nice little fishing port very lively at the arrival of the boats where sardines and crustaceans are sold at the auction. On the docks, fishermen repair the red nets.

Essaouira

The coastal town of Essaouira is an excellent destination for a day trip. This beautiful town, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, remains one of Morocco’s best-kept secrets and is a must-see destination. Essaouira has a bustling historical center and was the film location for many international films and tv shows. Walk around with your guide through the lovely small souks and visit the impressive fortress. In the afternoon you have some free time to eat some fresh fish at the beautiful old harbor (not included) or enjoy the beach.

Great trip with friendly driver/guide! Moved at our own pace and enjoyed the comfort stops both ways as well as the stop at the Argan Oil Cooperative to see how argan oil is produced as well as an opportunity to purchase their products . Enjoyed relaxed walking tour of Essaouira and seaside lunch. Bring cash for purchases in the Medina as well as for lunch as they do not take cards at the restaurant the guide takes you to at the end of the city tour.

We had a great trip with the wonderful guide Said Ait Elhouss. He was an excellent guide, both knowledgeable, funny and very pleasant. Said was always on time, helpful, flexible. We say amazing sights and had a very good time. I can fully recommend the tour of the 'Royal Cities of Morocco' and most definitely I recommend Said.

It's a very nice excursion. The driver, Yassine, very kind has been explaining things about Essauira. It is a city worth visiting and eating fish.

Our driver was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. He made sure we met with our local guide and then was immediately available afterwards. He drove safely and was never in a hurry.

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves, the guide was very helpful for every explanation we needed on our excursion from Marrakech to Essaouira and back. Both the driver and the guide are really good, recommendable for family excursions.

We took a private taxi Essaouira and it was well worth it, Omar the driver was good and helpful The actual sea port of Mogador was amazing and if I ever go back to Morocco this a place that I would spend a few days here . It is a Gem of a place Fisherman seaside restaurant this is the best place to have some fish or Lobster at cheap prices

We had a great time with Jamal he was a great driver and we both love Essaouira and would definitely look at going back , a definite trip if you need a little rest bite from the rush and hustle bustle of Marrakesh . Jamel was lovely to speak to and would definitely recommend.
