The Mary Todd Lincoln House is partially wheelchair accessible. The first floor of the museum can be reached via a handicap lift and is wheelchair navigable. Please ask staff for access to the lift. The second floor is not wheelchair accessible. There are twenty-one steps to the second floor. A photo album of the upstairs is available for visitors who are unable to or choose not to tour the upstairs.

4.00This was the home of former First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln. It was very interesting to read about her story, she has endured quite a lot of criticism and trauma. The people were very nice and the gift shop super nice.

4.00This is a nice period home preserved to retain and inform the visitors about the history of Mary Todd Lincoln's family during her time living there. The docents were incredibly informative. The antiques on display are of the period but few actually belonged to the Todd family. The gift shop has some unique items. The grounds are beautiful. The home is easy to miss on a busy street right by Rupp Arena.

5.00Being from Illinois it was nice to get a perspective on Mary Todd Lincoln besides the fact that she married Abraham Lincoln. The house has a lot of information on the Todd family and Mary’s life which I didn’t know. This is a great stop for history buffs!

5.00We took the self-guided tour and it was perfect. There are plenty of signs to read in each room that explain the family history and furnishings. The house is located in town, but has a parking lot behind the house. There are guides on each floor to answer any questions you might have.

5.00We were unable to attend one of the guided tours, but the staff pitched in beautifully to make sure we had a good experience. The staffmembers with whom we spoke were extremely knowledgeable not just about the Lincolns’ biographies but about the relevant US/Kentucky/Lexington histories. The house is a somewhat modest dwelling, and not all the contents are original (as is made clear), but there are ample materials for making sense of the political and social contexts of these famous lives (including of course contexts for Mary Todd Lincoln’s allegedly erratic behavior). Compared to other historical sites I’ve seen that were homes of famous white people, both the printed materials and the guides did a good job of highlighting the contributions and constraints of enslaved African Americans in the household. The gift shop stocks a variety of interesting books as well as souvenirs.

5.00In and near downtown Lexington, this is a must-see historical building. Staff was kind and informative. It was $30 pp, but is overpriced in my opinion. I loved the antique period furniture. Readable information was available in nearly every room. There's also a gift shop. Photo taking is encouraged without flash. This can be family-friendly, but little kiddos may want to touch everything!

1.00This Is a terrible excuse for an historic home. The tour is self guided with information cards to pick up and read in each room. Mary Todd Lincoln lived in this house for a very short time. Many of the artifacts were maybe owned by a family member at some time and are therefore connected to the house. My hobby is visiting old houses and this is the worst one I have visited.

4.00Mary Todd Lincoln’s House is worth a bit of your time to see where this First Lady grew up and to learn her history. The house has been impeccably restored and the staff is a wealth of knowledge. It is a self guided tour but the staff was easily accessible to answer your questions and provide more in depth information than what was written on all the history boards. Beautiful gardens…small but a nice little stroll and a lovely little gift shop in one of the old kitchens.
Don't miss out on seeing this important landmark!
