Pick up at 7:00 AM. You will depart and drive through the Great Rift Valley, the dramatic landscape and the plains inhabited by Maasai pastoralists. The Maasai Mara National Reserve is reached in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will have a game drive to search out lion for which the reserve is famous for.

Take an extensive morning game drive later followed by a restful afternoon at the poolside or another game drive. In this famous reserve you will be able to encounter animal species like the Big five e.g Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo and other lesser species.

5.00We were picked up at the airport, dropped off at our hotel, and then picked up in the early morning for a day of experiencing Nairobi. After a long and interesting day we had a good nights sleep before heading out to Masai Mara. It was a 6 hour drive, including a few stops as well as driving to a location where they had spotted lions - so even before arriving at Ashnil camp for lunch we got to see a lion guarding his hunted prey, waiting to eat it. Ashnil was clean, quiet and wonderful, highly recommended. There are some hippos in the river outside (singing/grunting their lullabies constantly)! On day two of the safari we had about 9,5 hours in the car, with lunch along the way. Our driver Ian was absolutely amazing. Knowledgeable, kind and calm. We are still in awe of his driving skills, as well as how well he knows the park, and his spotting abilities and interest in birds (coinciding with ours). We would do this again in a heartbeat. Explorer Kenya is a reliable company.

5.00We had the best time! Sammy was a fantastic tour guide - very energetic, knowledgeable, and really went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything possible… and we did! We saw elephants, giraffes, hippos, water buffalo, cheetahs, lions AND cubs, and even a leopard up a tree. In between those big animals, we saw so many others - warthogs, meerkats, baboons, gazelle, topis, antelope, vultures, and a crocodile! My partner and I were on our honeymoon, and it was an amazing trip. Highly recommend doing the tour - Ashnil Mara camp is absolutely stunning, and the staff are incredible.

5.00We had an amazing 4-day safari in the maasai mara with explorer Kenya. Our guide Moses was awesome - friendly, funny, and clearly had so much knowledge, expertise and experience. Over the four days, we saw so much amazing wildlife on our trip. It was really special. The vehicle and the accommodation were great, and we were made to feel very comfortable throughout. Thank you Robert Murigi for the smooth organisation and thank you Moses for the brilliant guiding.

5.00We just finished a 3-day safari in Taita Hills and Tsavo East, and it was incredible. We saw lions, elephants, giraffes—you name it. The lodges were great and the whole experience was smooth and unforgettable. What made it even better was our guide, Douglas. He was professional, friendly, always on time, and full of knowledge. He made sure everything ran perfectly and was a joy to travel with. Highly recommend Douglas for anyone planning a safari in Kenya!

5.00We had a wonderful time in Masai Mara. Thank you John Kariuki for making it happen! He was a very good driver. We felt safe with him on the road to and from the national park. No reckless driving/overtaking. Thank you very much for that. The leopard is his friend he said, and with some luck we got some great shots.

5.00We experience a four day safari with Explorer Kenya which we organised from the UK prior to our holiday. We paid a 40 percent deposit and settled the rest on the pick up day. The communication was excellent via email and driver information was sent via WhatsApp once we were in Kenya two days prior. For our safari we had the pleasure of being with Henry, who is an brilliant driver/guide and I would highly recommend asking for to be your driver/guide for your safari. During the safari we experiences seeing giraffes, elephants, lions, cheetahs, jackets, hyenas, zebras, buffalo etc. A large variety of birds even though our trip was not the migration event for even more animals. The camp we stayed in was Ashill Luxury Camp was of a very high standard and the staff there are great and exceptional friendly.

5.00We were in Nairobi and had John Kariuki as our driver for 8 days! He’s was fantastic! John is knowledgeable and funny and I felt very safe with him as our driver at all times! We ended our trip at Maasai Mara for two days of safari and it was a journey of a lifetime! He knew exactly where to go so that we could see more wildlife than I dreamed possible! John is a must if you come to Nairobi!
