For the Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour you’ll visit a coffee farm and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested and processed. You’ll try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. Also you will have short and enjoyable hike through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni Waterfalls. Kikuletwa Hotsprings
The hot springs are a hidden little tropical oasis found approximately 1 hour drive from Moshi. The journey there alone is interesting- driving through Maasai land, past bomas and young warriors herding cattle. You will find yourself wondering how on earth you could find this lush place in such a dry land, scattered with Baobab trees and acacias… and then you will come upon this tropical little paradise full of palms and crystal clear waters. The warm (not necessarily hot!) and fresh waters are great for a relaxing swim and you can picnic under the trees, sometimes along with a group of vervet monkeys. Spend as long or as little as you would like here taking in great views of both Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro before returning to Arusha

Materuni Village Coffee and Waterfalls Day Trip Materuni village is a beautifully lush area to visit on the outskirts of Moshi Here you can really get to grips with the life of the local Chagga people wandering through the village and passing their homesteads Located in the picturesque foothills of Kilimanjaro Materuni has managed to retain its authentic edge over some of the other tourist attractions as it is not one of the routes for climbing Kilimanjaro Here your guide will explain all aspects of the Chagga homestead including the other crops that they grow aside from coffee You will get to see how the coffee is produced from picking the bean to roasting and then drinking a delicious cup yourself. Following your coffee tour you will then take a short hike make sure to wear some good shoes as it can be muddy up there passing through local villages to reach the waterfalls

5.00We had a great time visiting the waterfalls with Victor as our guide. He made sure we had as much time as we wanted at every stop. The different activities during the day were a good mix of nature and culture and we would recommend this tour. We very much enjoyed it!

5.00Very nice trip, the waterfall is really beautiful and the walk to him not too hard but also not too easy need good shoes. The hot springs is nice and refreshing but you need a good luck because we had a lot of people and that not fun It’s taken two hours from one attraction to the other The lunch we had were very good and the driver that was also our guide was very good driver and nice I really recommend this trip with this company

5.00We went with Germán to the Materuni waterfalls, coffee ritual, local food in Materuni and the hot springs and everything great, highly recommended. German is a very nice person and with a lot of humor, he is a Maasai who also explains typical things of his tribe.

5.00Thanks to the excellent organisation we had an amazing experience on our safari trip. I highly recommend Meru Slopes, Mr. Geofrey was very kind and answered to all my questions before the tour and on arrival in Arusha. The drivers were very friendly and helpful, cars and structures were clean, food was good. We saw lots of animals in the Parks, our guides gave us all the explanations about the animals and took a lot of time for us. Thank you very much for making this an unforgettable experience!
