Learn to prepare authentic Guatemalan dishes from our culinary arts graduates. This is a hands-on experience and will give you the tools you need to recreate these dishes at home. AND you get to eat the results!! Classes are taught in English or Spanish, and fun for all ages.

5.00What an amazing experience!! Alicia is an incredible host and she loves sharing her culture with visitors. She is a wonderful teacher and a lovely person. She works with her family (her sons often translate in English) and you can see how much love and pride go into the experience. She explains all of the ingredients that are used in the Mayan cuisine you will cook and shares her recipes and her life story with you. It was an unforgettable experience.

5.00This was an exceptional experience. Lee made getting from our lodging to Santa Cruz very easy and was excellent in communicating. Alicia led a fantastic cooking class and Vanessa was an amazing translator. We cooked jocon de pollo, tamalitas de chipilin, guisquil, rice with vegetables- traditional recipes and utterly delicious

5.00This was such a fun experience! I would recommend anyone visiting Lake Atitlan to try. Our class had 5 people and everyone was able to participate in every step of the process. We were able to pick out what dish we wanted to make & the food came out so tasty. We made a main dish, dessert & they even served fresh homemade juice. Alice & her son were so hospitable and made the experience that much better. We were able to feel fully immersed in the culture, which is always the most beautiful aspect of traveling!

5.00Amazing experience. The family was so knowledgeable and inviting. The food was also amazing! The mother taught us how to cook their traditional dishes and her son hosted us and assisted with the language barrier.
