Our state-of-the-art distillery in the heart of North Belfast is housed within a restored listed building. Offering guided tours that uncover the unique history of an iconic Belfast brand, McConnell’s Irish Whisky, you’ll hear the stories of Belfast’s illustrious distilling past in a landmark setting. Join us to find out more about a brand born in Belfast in 1776, that is now being restored globally. You’ll learn about the distilling process and of course, taste some of our distillery's award-winning Irish whiskies along the way. Our distillery also offers visitors a fantastic shop to pick up gifts, an all-day café, plus a fully licensed bar to enjoy after the tour. Signature Activity: Observe the process of making triple-distilled, single malt Irish whiskey and of course, sample some of our award-winning whiskies along the way. Activity includes a welcome drink, McConnell's 5 Year, McConnell's Sherry Cask and some 'new make', straight off the stills.

I went with a group of colleagues and we all enjoyed the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and the tasting at the end would have been great..... except I was driving so could only smell the various whiskies in the bottles. It would be great if designated drivers were given a miniature to try when they got home....

Lovely’s tour from a very knowledgeable lady. It was nice to see the process and watch the video of the building works done on the old jail. The whiskey samples were a bonus!!

I visited the distillery with a friend and from the moment we arrived to when we eventually left the tour was excellent and our guide Nikki was brilliant..not only was she exceptionally knowledgeable but was great company to spend a few hours with and she handled two cantankerous older gentleman superbly and I would definitely recommend anyone who is visiting Belfast or is from Belfast and loves or does not love whisky to visit…A huge thanks to all the staff at McConnells for a great experience.

My partner & I set out to explore after our group travel tour ended for the day. I was fortunate to get two tickets to the last Distillery tour of the day. There was one other couple, so It felt like a private experience. Our guide Gerald did an excellent job explaining the history of McConnell’s Distillery. We did not feel hurried and were able to enjoy a sampling of whisky’s at the end of the tour. I would definitely recommend visiting McConnell’s Distillery. Be sure to arrive early enough to do a tour of the prison as well.

Excellent tour, very informative guide (Ethan), enjoyed the whiskey tasting and the overall atmosphere in the old Crumlin Road jail (a wing). Great history behind the revival of the McConnell whisky. Very nice 5 year old whiskey, and great company to enjoy it with.

I booked this experience as part of my hubby’s birthday gift. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and as we were early, I had a hot chocolate at the cafe. Hubby was given a free whisky sample as it was his birthday. An appreciative touch. Our guide, Ethan was passionate and knowledgeable about the distillery and clearly enjoyed his job. We learned a lot about how whisky is made and the tasting portions were generous. I would highly recommend a visit when in Belfast.

My tour was brilliant, much enhanced by Sam's knowledge and ability to explain the process of creating good Whiskey. I loved her story telling and friendly approach. It is amazing how the Distillery has revamped the prison wing keeping it as originally as possible.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic tour at McConnell's distillery with Sam. Super interesting information and a lot of laughs, thanks to Sam. We appreciate for the effort being put into restoring the this wing of the old gaol and the distillery's story. The whiskey is phenomenal! I'd say some of the best I've had. Very delicate flavours. A very unique distillery given its story and location! Thank you to the whole team and especially Sam.
