Important note: For Saturday & Sunday departures the tour will be done in the reverse order because the Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter season (Sep 15 to May 14) and on Mondays during the summer season (May 15 to Sep 14).
At least 2 people are required for this activity to take place. If the minimum number of people is not reached, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
This tour is not suitable for families with children under 7.
On Mondays the Clock Tower of Sighisoara is closed.
There is a 60 Euro single supplement to be paid directly to the guide at the departure if you require a single room
Peles Castle will be closed for general cleaning and preventive conservation from Nov 3 to Dec 2, 2025. During this period, visitors will have the opportunity to visit Pelisor Castle instead.
Not recommended for travelers with impaired mobility.

Biertan Fortified Church
Biertan Fortified Church is the biggest fortified church in Transylvania, built between 1490 – 1524.
Sighisoara
Sighisoara, having the first documentary attestation back in 1280 and the old German name Schassburg, is at the moment the only medieval citadel in Europe still populated (UNESCO heritage).
On the top of which you can take some beautiful panoramic pictures with the citadel.
Brasov
Brasov or Kronstadt (the German name) is a medieval city, with the first documentary attestation in 1235. You will enjoy a walking tour in the old town (the historical center of Brasov).

5.00I've recently returned from 3-day Medieval Transylvania tour with a group of friends. The tour was excellent, so much packed into each day, but flexible enough to allow us to make the most of each day and included a drive over the breath taking Transfargarasan highway and a stop in the snow on top of the Carpathian mountains. The hotels were comfortable and in good locations, especially the Bella Muzica in Brasov which is right on the town square. Our guide Serban was extremely knowledgeable and clearly loved Romania. I'd recommend this tour to anyone interested in Romanian or Transylvanian history, which we learned is far more interesting than just Vlad the Impaler and Dracula.

5.00I booked Travel Maker for a group of 7 for the 3-day Medieval Tour of Transylvania. From the beginning, the process to book was very easy with quick responses to emails. The organisation went very smoothly, and we were picked up by Serbanriga on our first day in a spotless minivan. Serban's English is excellent, and his sense of humour kept us entertained the whole way through. The accommodation at each stop was lovely and Serbanriga recommended restaurants to us which didn't disappoint. He even joined us on a few fun evenings out which was lovely. Serbanriga was very flexible on the itinerary, suggesting stops we may be interested in and giving us the choice to stop there or not. I really cannot fault this tour, we loved it and it was so interesting and easy. Travel Maker and Serbanriga did all the work for us, all we had to do was enjoy. Definitely recommended, book with confidence.

5.00We took the 3 day tour of Transylvania by TravelMaker. Serban was our excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, considerate and flexibly cateres to the group's needs. A small group (5). New minivan - v clean and comfortable. Hotels were clean and food was great. We covered all the key sights plus a few more!

5.00We had a Wonderful time in Romania with our tour by Travelmaker. It included all points agreed and the vehicle and hotels were impeccable. But what made a difference was our guide Serban Riga. He was always helpful and able to accommodate our specific interests. Traveling with 2 kids and my wife, we were able to talk and enjoy Serban’s insights of Rumanian life. We definitely recommend this agency with Serban as a tour guide.

5.00Be sure to add an extra few days when visiting Bucharest to visit the countryside. The 3 day tour includes the Bram and Peles Castles which people often take in a one day tour. The extra days driving over the Carpathian Mts. and stopping in 3 lovely towns, 2 overnights had us all chanting, "we love Romania!"! This country is very rich in history. Seeing the bears by the side of the road was amazing too though people shouldn't be feeding them. We had a delightful tour with our guide, Serben, from TravelMaker. He was funny and had a lot of historical knowledge. He was able to anticipate crowds and adjust our schedule so we could avoid the worst tourist bottlenecks. The website had all the info about bringing a certain amount of local currency which we needed for tickets to the Peles Castle, suggested tip, tipping in general etc. My only suggestion is to understand the acommodations better. Maybe a link to the hotels could be sent beforehand. The last hotel was in a fabulous location right at the town square, but no elevator. Serben was great carrying bags up stairs and the next morning the hotel had staff to help. We were a group of 9 older travelers. The driver, Floin, for the van was very professional oal and managed the mountain switchbacks and crowded areas with skill.

5.00It was great! In large part this was due to our driver/guide Narcis Brandusescu for two very different reasons. First, he was a great help physically – we are in our late 70s and really needed his strong arm/hand when there were no hand rails on stairs or the footing was very uneven – this despite our walking sticks (which I recommend, BTW). Secondly once Narcis discovered our preference for viewing museums he re-arranged the planned itinerary to include more of them and less churches. We also added a trip up the mountains to see Lake Vidaru, on the way meeting a mother brown bear and her two cubs!

5.00My son and I had the trip of a lifetime as we celebrated his 16th birthday present in Romania this summer. This tour was everything you want in a tour of a country very different from your own. Our group was small and our guide, Narcis, was a knowledgeable, informative, and thoughtful tour guide who took us to all the best places not mentioned in guidebooks. In a short three days, we learned about Romanian culture and history through visiting museums, monasteries, churches, and medieval villages. The van we toured in was great with large windows to view the gorgeous landscape and the hotels we stayed in were very nice with beautiful breakfasts. I am hopeful that I can send many friends and family on this fabulous tour through Romania.

I found lovely Sibiu and Sighisoara, as well as the monasteries of Curtea de Arges and Cozia. 5.00Our guide, Boogie, was informative, entertaining and a good driver. He “made” the trip for us. The three days were through beautiful country side and small towns. In SIBUI we had our best sleep and shower of our entire trip. PELES was the highlight of our tour. It was the most unique of castles we have seen in Europe. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00First of all I would like to compliment Travelmaker, WOW! what a great company, once you are in their office everyone and everything welcomes you. Indeed they did a good job in organizing our tours and airport pickup. Secondly, Matei Boerescu, our tour guide for the Medieval Tour, he was excellent by all means. He was very punctual, informative and had a great sense of humour. Overall, it was a great experience and would love to do the tour again, however, the next time would be to have more time and spend at least 6 days in this tour. Great Job!
