Some of Merida’s best shops are on streets with less traffic, in overlooked neighborhoods, on the second floor of a building or behind unassuming doors. The Ultimate “Shopping” Experience is curated tour that introduces you to 7-8 of Merida’s most unique shops ranging from very sophisticated boutiques to purposeful cooperatives to lovely family-owned cottage industry shops. With a theme of unique and quality merchandise, stores range to accommodate a variety of budgets for both men and women. Items may include textiles, various art, pottery, natural health and wellness products, shoes, curiosities, hammocks, leather, gifts, perfume, jewelry, décor, blown glass, local and national one-of-a-kind artisanal items, cloths, antique and vintage merchandise and other treasures. *30 min per shop.

We visited several stores with varied merchandise. Great hosts with Cindi and Adriana and a good way to meet new people. Discounts are only available that day which isn’t very beneficial for folks who live here since most of us were mostly getting a feel for the store and would most likely go back later. Still, it’s a lot of fun and most of have never visited the stores prior

I spent the day under the guidance of Cindy and her professional crew of shoppers in tucked away locally owned shops. My credit card and I will long remember the amazing treasures I purchased. What a fun day!

Fun day visiting stores with locally made clothes, fabrics, pottery, honey, perfume, in stores that are amazing and unique. These stores where on side streets and not on the typical touristy streets. There was a lot of locally made items or items made in Mexico. The group was made up of 8 people and we were able to spend time in each store and transportation was provided between the different locations The tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone visiting or recently moved to Mérida.
A shopping trip for all budgets.

What a fun shopping adventure. The bus was comfortable and easy to access. The tour started on time and ended on time, and I had plenty of time to shop in each store. Cindi had beverages and even a special snack.😋 You will see items made by artisans locally and from around the region. I had only been to one of the shops on the tour before and it had lots of new items. I live here full time and was excited to visit some new places. There were many items for my home, clothing, beautiful leather bags, jewelry and if you would like a special scent, there was a store for that too pluse so many other items. There was a store that had samplings of locally made alcohol, another had some habanero sauces, and then we were offered different types of local honey.🍯 If you are visiting Merida, you can purchase much nicer souvenirs than are sold in every town you visit in Mexico on the sidewalks or cheap souvenir stores. There were prices for all budgets, and the people working in the stores were very helpful & nice. This would be a trip you could take multiple times because the items will always be changing.

I bumped into some secret stores and I'm glad I did. The staff did their best to make our tour very special, even bringing us complimentary meals and drinks. Highly recommended for families, visitors and locals who like to venture shopping in local shops. Prices accessible to all!

This is the shopping expereince you want when coming to Merida if you are looking to buy gorgeous handmade peices by local arteseans. Skip all the tourist shops selling the same cheap crap made in China. Cindi is a fantastic hostess. The trip is well organzied and includes thoughtful details. It's so great to be driven around Merida in a well air conditioned vehicle where you have cold drinks and snacks available to you, while you are introduced to Merida's best shops that you'd never find just walking around centro on your own. I think I bought something in almost every store and got some fantastic stuff! Highly recommend.

What an excellent way to shop in Merida! Having an insider drive you around in an air conditioned van and serve you drinks and snacks while you explore some of the best shopping in town! Despite having lived in Merida for 6 years, I was not aware of these stores. I loved that they were all family owned, not corporate, and that everything in these stores were made by local artisans. And each store offered a discount to tour members. I think locals and tourists alike would really enjoy this experience. I plan to do it again the next time I have friends in town who want to go shopping.

What a unique way to see the city, meet people and to discover and learn about so many unique finds you'd likely never encounter on your own. Easy transport to keep your stuff secure while you shop and to keep you cool between stops. Well-timed snacks to keep you fueled and what a fantastic variety of home decor, jewellery, art clothing and textiles. All-in-all, a wonderful tour!

Wow! What a day , we visited a bunch of stores and got to see so many beautiful items done by artisans for all over Mexico. The trip was well organized and got to meet other visitors. Highly recommend this experience.
