On this exclusive tour you will sail in traditional cayucos, kayak-like vessels, but larger and more comfortable, guided by expert rowers. You just relax and enjoy: you don’t have to paddle. We travel through narrow, little-traveled canals, inaccessible to common trajineras, where nature is at its purest.
You will see the sunrise reflecting off the water, surrounded by birds, akhotes, and stunning flora. This is a silent, intimate and perfect experience for those who seek something authentic, photogenic and deeply connected to the lake ecosystem.

-5:00am pick you up from your hotel or airbnb -5:40am we will arrive at the jetty where you will be given a brief explanation and recommendations -6:00am we will start sailing through the incredible Xochimilco canals riding a kayuko in this part we will appreciate the sunrise as we observe in the background the volcanoes Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl as the sun rises behind them. -7:00am we will arrive at a Chinampa, this ancient method of Mesoamerican agriculture that persists to this day, where a completely organic breakfast will be prepared that will be harvested at that very moment. -7:30am while breakfast is ready you will receive an explanation about Xochimilco and its past by an expert guide, while having a rich pot coffee -8:00am breakfast and after finishing you can plant your own plants to maintain sustainability. -9:00am We will sail back to the jetty, on this journey you will enjoy the Xochimilco with light and in all its splendour. -arriving at the jetty we will return to your Hotel or to the point of the city that you indicate.

5.00My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our early morning ride on a canoe. From the Condesa area our pickup was 4:30 am for about a 30-minute ride to Xochimilco. People on the experience ranged from 10 years to over 65 years. Blankets are provided if you are a bit cold. The ride to the chinampa took about 1 hour and we enjoyed the birds and fauna along the way while the guide explained the history of the area. Depending on the time of year you will see different birds. At the chinampa site we toured the beautiful farm. The scenery at sunrise is worth the experience only! The nearby mountain ranges are also visible. The weather is unpredictable, so the experience may be disappointing if the morning is cloudy. We had a light breakfast with vegetables from the garden as well as a local dish. Coffee and tea were also served. We got a short brief on the ecology of the chinampas. We saw an axolotl kept in a fish bin and the guide explained why they are endangered. There were some items for sale. This trip is highly recommended. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.

5.00What a fantastic experience. Our guide Jafet was excellent and answered all of our questions to put us at ease. The balloon ride itself was superb, we were lucky to have a perfect morning and sunrise. The pilot did his magic. Highly recommend to anyone

5.00Highly highly recommend this tour. All logistics were so well organized, and the chinampa tour itself was lovely at sunrise. Saw lots of birds and enjoyed learning about the ecology and agriculture from our thoughtful and enthusiastic guide!

5.00Well worth the price. Beautiful experience. You might get it cheaper if you book direct but also paying the extra to not have to worry about organizing a ride and such is excellent. We have no regrets.

5.00Amazing experience and totally worth it. Our canoe rower/guide was Marcus and he was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about preserving the ecosystem of the area. We learned a lot about the local ecosystem and go to eat a fresh breakfast (most delicious cherry tomatoes I've ever had). The sunrise was beautiful, but much colder than expected. Marcus provided us with fresh blankets, which were a life saver.

5.00This tour definitely exceeded my expectations! Marcos was a very knowledgable guide. Riding thru the canals at dawn and having breakfast while the sun is rising over the beautiful farm was such a tranquil experience that was made even better because it was just my wife and I. I would absolutely recommend this activity to others wanting an experience immersed in culture, history and supporting agricultural conservation efforts!

5.00What a unique and wonderful experience. Totally different (and IMO so much more appealing) than all the Xochimilco party trips. Our guide Marcos was fabulous and so knowledgeable. We learned a lot. And to see the day break surrounded by 250 species of birds on an organic farm technically in CDMX city limits was a wonderful experience.
Amazing tour. Wear warm shoes. Driver arrives early.

5.00It was an amazing tour that took us on a canoe through the canal before sunrise and before any other tourists arrived. We arrived at an eco-farm/garden where the tour guide and others run. The tour guide was very knowledgable, and we learned about how the farm/garden tries to restore and maintain a healthy eco-system there. Our breakfast was cooked right at the farm with all the ingredients from the garden. The tour is absolutely worth it and the money goes to supporting the farm. Just make sure to wear thick winter clothes and warm shoes. It was very cold in the early morning. The tour guide prepared several blankets for us and that saved my life. But the blankets couldn't over the feet. I was wearing sneakers and regular socks, which were not enough to prevent cold air and dampness from freezing my toes. Also, the description says the activity starts at 5:30am, but it takes about an hour to get there, so the driver may come to pick you up at 4:30am, which is what happened to us. I highly recommend the tour, just be prepared to 1) get up at 4/4:30am and 2) wear warm clothes and shoes.

5.00Great from pick-up to drop off. Driver, guide, etc. all very pleasant, knowledgeable and engaging. This was the opposite experience to party boats (which was what we wanted).
