We are experts on Oaxacan culture and Mezcal production, we are ready to show you the real Mezcal production with families that keep have kept the traditional methods and producing small scale and unique batches. We will give you a life experience by connecting with local families in their own villages and be part of the Mezcal production from the harvest to the distillation.
After one day experience with the families involved which economy mainly depends on Mezcal production and other haversting goods, you will be able to appreciate Mezcal not only as a beverage, but as a cultural value from Mexico.
If you are related to bar industry or spirits and looking to go deeper in your mezcal knowledge this is what you are looking for!

This will be our first stop to have breakfast. You could find vegan options and the most delicious tacos and quesadillas on a little pop up kitchen. I will be waiting with a signboard.

Masterclass and tasting of Mezcal. We will be able to appreciate agave fields and some wild agaves growing in the area, the manufacture of tradicional Mezcal with families from the town. We will be also able to understand the growing of the category and experience the life in a "palenque", which is the name as a distillery is known in Oaxaca. We will observe copper and clay pot distillation and then taste the mezcales obtained from both techniques from a wide variety of agaves. We will be visiting a Pulque farm and how this other beverage from agave is extracted.

5.00You won’t get a more authentic experience than this. Lupita is a mezcal expert, her life has been dedicated to it. The day I spent with her was the highlight of my Mexico trip, a truly magical experience. She took me to some incredible places off the grid which you’d never be able to get to yourself, she has long standing relationships with quality producers and highly skilled artisans, this is not your average commercial tour, it’s a truly original experience so do not hesitate to book, you’ll be in the best hands!

5.00Lupita created an amazing experience for us. She's incredibly knowledgeable, punctual, a great communicator and extremely kind. She took us to a stand deep in the market at Tlacolula de Matamoros for breakfast then on to tastings at Peloton de la Muerte and Grulani. We finished the day with an amazing meal at a little known spot. Definitely the highlight of our trip!

5.00We had an absolutely fabulous day with Lups! We started with a breakfast at a small neighborhood spot for memelas that would have never known about without a guide, then headed out to visit two different mezcal palenques for tours and tasting. We'd chosen to see two that were each run by women - in each case spending time with the mezcalera, watching the process, and tasting different stages of production. It was an education and completely changed the way I understood mezcal and its history in the region. And of course, we had great opportunities to taste and purchase unique product. We then ate lunch at a restaurant that has since earned a well-deserved Michelin star where they were making mole over a fire and got to watch that process. We ended with visits to a ceramics workshop and an alebrije workshop. All the time, Lups gave context and shared, translated as we needed, and introduced us to the various craftspeople. My wife and I still talk about this day as the highlight of our 10 days in Mexico. It was a truly inspiring and full day.

5.00Lupita gave us the tour of a lifetime. She customized it to our needs and wishes. She took us to an amazing place for lunch and knew just what to order. She was kind and pleasant and very knowledgeable about Mezcal. I only wish we had more time there so we could take more tours with her! Highly recommend, 10/10.
