Our journey began with a warm welcome from the Mkoko Explorers team, followed by a quick safety briefing and gearing up for the adventure ahead. With paddles in hand and excitement in the air, (and a bit of anxiety) we set off into the calm waters of Mida Creek. Soaring through the mangroves was nothing short of magical. The soothing sounds of nature (chirping birds) created a peaceful rhythm as we explored this unique ecosystem. We also had the chance to spot the honeymooning flamingoes. Our guides, Baraka and Kelvin, were not only skilled but exceptionally knowledgeable and shared insights about the several species of mangroves found along the coastline. Whether you’re a nature lover, an adventure seeker, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, kayaking is an experience to cherish forever. Will definitely do this again during my next visit.
