If you intend to visit Milan, a must is undoubtedly Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. The great work of the Tuscan genius, preserved in the refectory next to the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, is one of the most studied and imitated masterpieces in the world, but also one of the most mysterious and discussed. Follow us on this guided tour, discovering the history and secrets behind the Last Supper and the splendid Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie. During our guided tour of the Upper Room you will understand how every stroke, every detail, every brushstroke, every expression and gesture of the figures represented tells those “motions of the soul” of which Leonardo became the first inventor. And the Last Supper is sublimated from perfect painting to emotional narration.

Sylva was an excellent guide for this experience. Her passion for the tour is obvious and her knowledge of the area, Leonardo, the painting, the history of the restoration and the church is vast. She was so impressive. We were not prepared for it to be a bit of a spiritual experience but it absolutely was. Everything was excellent and it exceeded our expectations. Cannot recommend it enough

Good way to see and learn about DaVinci’s Last Supper painting. The guided tour also includes a visit to the church next door. For us it was closed for events that day so our guide (Maria) expertly pivoted to showing us another church nearby that was filled with beautiful frescos. Maria was a great guide - knowledgeable and passionate about the art history.

Plenty of advance explanation and while viewing the Last Supper I really appreciated how much our guide focused on the religious significance of all the symbolism. It was inspiring and divine!

I am very fussy about taking such tours. I usually have low expectations and come out feeling I would do better to just research the location myself. But this tour, run by the charismatic and knowledgeable Arabella, was informative, entertaining and managed to add to, rather than detracting from, the aura of the refractory and Leonardo’s painting. I was enchanted by Arabella’s story telling. She seemed to know exactly how to make this experience a rich one. So glad I went. What a great experience.
