  The coach set off promptly with a great driver, Arnold? He gave a wonderful chilled commentary throughout the journey and made plenty of scenic stops and toilet breaks along the way. The boat cruise and scenery was fantastic. We even saw baby seals! It did say a lunch was provided but on the boat they didn’t have any recollection of that in spite of my booking saying it was included. The staff on the boat quickly rectified it and gave us 4 packed lunches thankfully. The fly back was great too, the kids loved it, although it was quite scary for me and felt like flying around in a crisp packet in the wind. I was glad when we landed. The pilot (Hank) was great though and clearly very experienced in tricky weather conditions. All in all, 100% loved the day!

  This was a really good tour. The bus ride is long (luckily we flew back) but Junior was an incredible tour guide/bus driver. They guy was amazing with his humor and deep knowledge of New Zealand. Honestly, he made the other tours and presentations we saw redundant. He gave so much detailed info on the history of area, the natural landscape, the uniqueness of Aotearoa. Like I said the bus ride is long, but packed with info - the bus was comfortable, but crowded. The stops were really good picture spots and with just the right time. Be prepared to move, not a lot of wandering time. The cruise is also very nice, the Fjord is pretty spectacular, be prepared for the weather. They say that the rainy time is the best way to see it, but it was not warm in Nov. Good tour, good value - it's long - be prepared.

  Wonderful coach ride with driver Stan. He was full of information and we had a very comfortable ride to Milford Sound. Cruise was great. Food was great for a buffet, with lots of options. We really enjoyed our flight back with Isabelle. We felt very safe. It was our first time flying in a small plane. Isabelle took us on a ride back to Queensland while showing us all the beautiful sites, mountains and lakes.

  We have traveled extensively and this trip rates in our top 5. Everything was handled very professionally and as advertised. Do was an amazing, informative, thoughtful and entertaining guide. She was concerned about everyone’s well being and gave us a great experience. We highly recommend this trip and Do!

  Lovely sunny day. Off to a great start with Keith our coach driver giving an awesome commentary on the way, with loads of great photo stops. (We chose this particular tour because the company uses coaches: some of the others look like they use shuttle vans.) The boat trip was great, what an awesome craft. Great food, great commentary. But the Sound itself wasn't at it's best: a rainy day is what you want for max waterfall activity (Or even better: heavy rain the night before!). HOWEVER, with it being a clear day, the return flight was AMAZING, with the pilot showing off not just Milford Sound, but most of the Southern Alps it seemed. And back to Queenstown in before time for afternoon happy hour cocktails. (And the bonus: I got to sit in the co-pilot's seat. I got a sore face from grinning so much.) My wife & I agree: we'd would do this again.

  We have travelled a lot of places but this was by far one of the best we've ever experienced. We recognize we lucked out with amazing weather, but even if it were rainy, the views are amazing. This tour company has the BEST customer service, they made sure we had everything we needed. Our driver, Shul, worked hard to keep us engaged and shared many tidbits about New Zealand. He was very good at explaining the drive plan so we could plan for bathroom breaks accordingly. Kept to the schedule and made every one laugh. We brought our own lunch, which was great. The cruise is breathtaking. The highlight was taking the Heli back. An experience we will always hold dear.

  What an amazing experience! From start to finish Southern Discoveries delivered a first class product. We were picked up from our accommodation by a taxi and transported to the bus pickup from where we were in the very capable and safe hands of Roland, our driver. We thoroughly enjoyed his informative commentary and professional organisation. We were saying “wow” at every turn and loved every minute of the trip. Simply stunning scenery. We had considered flying both ways but were so pleased with our decision to add the coach experience. Next onto our Milford cruise for a delicious buffet lunch while gazing out the huge picture windows at the passing vista. An unforgettable experience. Upon disembarking we were greeted by smiling Megan, our Glenorchy Air pilot (with over 20 years flying experience), who ensured that we enjoyed fantastic views of the fjords and an unforgettable adventure overall. As nervous flyers, we felt so confident with Megan at the controls and will always remember that wonderful flight. We highly recommend this combination and after a lifetime of travel all around the world would rate this trip with Southern Discoveries as one of my all time favourite experiences. #southerndiscoveries #SDShareandWin

  The whole experience was amazing. Our driver, Roland, was just perfect with his commentary along the way and provided a number of stops for us to take photos, have toilet breaks and get our morning coffee! Everything was so well organised, from initial pick up, to coach trip, to cruise, to fly back. Everything communicated and co-ordinated to perfection . The lunch on board the cruise is definitely worth doing and worth paying the extra to reserve front seats in the coach (if this is important to you). An all round great experience and would really recommend doing.
