It is a long day......wear warm clothing.. make sure. Your phone, camera is fully charged. You'll need it. The views are breathtaking. Our driver, Keith with Discovery tours was well versed on the entire trip. A vast knowledge of the area and tour

Nice to stop at different spots along the way. Maybe some of the stops should be made on the way back to avoid the e crowds

This was incredible- Milford Sound is an experience you can't miss! Keith was our bus driver and had loads of interesting facts to share during the drive- it was very educational and helped the time pass. He is also a great photographer at photo stops! The entire drive is picturesque with rolling hills and sheep, and the boat ride is just stunning. Make sure to bring a jacket (and probably a rain coat too) as the boat ride is pretty chilly, but you'll want to stay outside to get the best views. The tea and coffee on board helps to warm you up some too!

I highly recommend Southern Discoveries Tour.I am so sorry that I forgot our tour guides name who was absolutely amazing. We actually missed our bus due to some confusion about the pick up point at our end. There was another Southern Discoveries Bus which was about to leave and our tour Guide so generously accommodated us for which we will always be grateful.Otherwise we would have missed the absolutely unforgettable Milford Sound experience and beautiful Te Anau and Mirror Lakes walk

Petr’s commentary on the bus was funny and informative. Nick’s driving of the bus was so relaxing (the best way to do this trip and enjoy the breathtaking views at every turn). Lunch was well catered and the two hour cruise on Milford Sound was fantastic. We got to see fur seals and crested penguins as well as the many waterfalls cascading into the sound following yesterday’s rain.

An amazing experience of truly a special place on earth, always thought photos & video footage made it look like a place to visit. So glad we did, another tick off the bucket list!

We felt like sheep herded along. So many people! Hand sanitiser would have been good to have on hand. The buffet lunch was definitely not worth the money. There was plenty of food and a good selection, but it was dry and tasteless. The best thing about the food was the fruit platter. Definitely needed another toilet stop on the way back. Many ladies were crossing their legs and then had to cue for toilets, but apparently nothing was open by the time we came back. The bus driver was very friendly and all of the staff were lovely and the captain of the boat was wonderful. I think there were much better ways to spend a day in Queenstown and Milford Sound was over-rated. I would recommend an over-night stop-over in Te Anau to make the journey more pleasurable if you are going to go. The bus will pick you up from there. It was much more relaxing to go by bus than having to navigate the roads. To be fair, the bus driver stopped 3 times on the way for photo opportunities which was nice.

The cruise people: Charlotte & boat driver were very knowledgeable, professional & pleasant. They did an amazing job. Three people in the bus: Gary, Elli & Peter. Gary & Alice when not announcing the areas we passed by were so loud talking, we now know Ellie’s personal life. I believe it was not appropriate to loudly talk, non stop instead of telling us about the destination. If she has nothing to tell us about it, & if she wanted to talk to the driver non stop, do it appropriately without us; the customer would hear the loud talking & Laughing! Non stop. Elli was nice, but was very annoying with her personal story telling to Gary, the driver. I’ve traveled so many times, took tours with different merchants touring the destination, that was the 1st time I’ve experienced the tour guide was loud & behavior was not acceptable. It diminishes the goodness on her. Because of these two, the tour was become a two star.
