• Outstanding trip to Milford Sound

  Outstanding fly/cruise/fly trip to Milford Sound with Glenorchy Air. Supremely well organised from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel by the lovely driver Ivan who transported us to the airfield and explained the check in process. After check in we were met by our Pilot Ben who took us through the itinerary of the day and the safety briefing. Safety was again explained as we got on the small aircraft and before take off. We were extremely lucky with the weather and flew down to Milford Sound with Ben explaining the numerous sights en route. On arrival at the Sound, we disembarked and were accompanied to the boat by Ben. The 90 minute cruise was, as expected, stunning. But additionally, lovely crew on board and a good selection of coffees, tea, savoury and sweet snacks/sandwiches etc to buy. These were of a very good quality. The Captain on the boat also provided a running commentary explaining the geology, sights, animal sightings etc. On return from the cruise we were met by Ben, accompanied back to the plane and returned to queenstown via a different route to allow us to see more sights. Ivan then took us back to the hotel. All in all a totally brilliant day

• Best “Co-Pilot” Seat Ever Flying Out of Milford Sound

  Ben, our pilot for the scenic flight back from Milford Sound, made the experience unforgettable. I can get motion sick, and he was incredibly thoughtful and reassuring the entire flight. He even let me sit up front as his “co-pilot,” which made the ride smoother and turned it into such a fun, memorable part of the trip. The views were spectacular, and Ben’s calm professionalism made it even better.

  This is by far the best way to experience the Milford Sound by air and sea. We had a very scenic return flight from Queenstown to Milford Sound onboard ZK-PPR. Annabel, the most lovely pilot in the southern hemisphere made this an epic experience. If you are lucky enough, you may even get the co-pilot seat. Absolutely breathtaking. Cruising the Milford Sound on board of a Southern Discovery‘s vessel just adds the icing on the cake. Thanks again to the team of Glenorchy Air for a perfect day in paradise.

  Ben was a great pilot. Flight was FANTASTIC! Ground crew was awesome. Details were all taken care of. Truly enjoyed this experience. Highly recommend.

  Amazing flight back from Milford Sound to Queenstown. Annabel the pilot was excellent and very informative. Ground staff were also very helpful.

  Was disappointed that my originally scheduled afternoon was cancelled due to bumpy flying conditions. The next morning was full and I was leaving QT. However an hour later they called to say they could squeeze me on a plane the next morning. And I was so glad! I was lucky to get the copilot seat on the plane. Also lucky in that it was clear blue skies with no clouds. Smooth flying all the way and spectacular views of snow capped peaks, valleys, lakes, glaciers and trails. The cruise around Milford Sound showcased the enormity of the location. Great crew who narrated and explained everything.
