Southern Alps Air - Scenic Flights
Milford Sound Glacier Flight & Cruise from Wanaka. Depart Wanaka Airport and enjoy views of the Clutha River and Lakes Wanaka and Hawea before reaching the rugged Southern Alps. Travel through 2 National Parks with views of many glaciers, waterfalls, mountain lakes, ice, sno and much more. Upon reaching the West Coast of NZ you turn into Milford Sound and fly the full length of the fiord. Once safely landed at Milford you will join the scenic boat cruise to enjoy spectacular views from the water. Your pilot will meet you off the boat and fly you back to Wanaka on a different flight path so you can see even more spectacular landscape. Departure times are 8.45am and 1.30pm October through April and 11am May Through September. Allow 4 hours.

5.00This is a once in a lifetime experience, worth every single cent. Southern Alps Air are a friendly and professional team of flyers. Their knowledge of the glaciers and terrain is second to none. I was so impressed with the cruise in Milford Sound, which I had done about 8 years ago but this time it was even more magical. This was the absolute highlight of our southern holiday and so goes highly reccomended if your are considering adding a scenic flight to your tour itinerary.

5.00Jaw droppingly amazing. Pete was an excellent pilot to and from Milford Sound, giving us snippets of landmarks and POIs as we flew over the Southern Alps. Cruise was also good and very interesting. Such good value.

5.00That the weather on the west coast can impact whether you can do the boat trip The scenery was spectacular and James the pilot took time to fly around Milford Sounds as we only had limited time there due to weather conditions . Flying through the mountain ranges was a truly memorable

5.00Awe inspiring ❤️ Must see whilst in New Zealand (south island). Weather on the west coast can be fickle if flying in but we got a beautiful day when we went a day after a original booking.
